This document provides instructions for making an heirloom shrug from an old crocheted tablecloth. The instructions specify that you will need a crochet hook, tablecloth, and matching thread. You begin by folding the tablecloth with right sides together and pinning the corners to mark the arm holes. Then you use the crochet hook and thread to chain stitch the two layers together along the pin lines. Repeat for the other side and open the piece up into a kite shape. A brooch can be added and the shrug is then ready to wear and store folded inside out to preserve the temporary seams.
