8. Enjoy your
community's
amenities
this summer
Being an apartment renter allows you many
opportunities to celebrate the summer
season in style.
If you opt to vacation at home this summer, be sure to
utilize the vast amenities at your disposal such as the
community pool, dog park, fitness center, walking or
hiking trails and more!
NalleWoods.comPhoto Source:
Tips
Have plenty of sunscreen and apply
repeatedly
Hydrate frequently
Keep a charged cell phone close
Be aware of children nearby
Always walk, never run and finally,
always respect the community pool
rules (no diving means
no diving)!
Tips
Always keep an eye on your dog
Don’t bring any toys your dog isn’t
willing to share
Be sure to bring a bag to clean up
any messes from your dog
Keep a charged cell phone close by
in case of emergencies
Bring water to keep your dog and
yourself hydrated
Pool
Many apartment communities offer you the opportunity to stay cool at the neighborhood pool. Feel free to catch some
rays by laying out or playing a game of Marco Polo with a few of your neighbors. However you decide to occupy your
time at the pool, be sure you take advantage of this wonderful amenity. Trust us, your friends will be envious!
Dog Park
Do you live in a pet-friendly apartment community? If so, set-up a play date at your community’s dog park. In addition
to occupying your time, you’ll also provide an enjoyable time for fido! Playing with your pet is a great budget-friendly
activity to do on your staycation.
7
9. Tip
Make sure to have all the equipment
needed to get your game started in
advance; if a soccer ball is needed,
bring a pump. And remember
to hydrate!
Exercise Amenities
Odds are your apartment community
will offer a fitness center, playground,
tennis court, basketball court, walking
trails or some green space to kick a
soccer ball, throw a frisbee or play
washer toss. Use your staycation as
an opportunity to strut your stuff or
learn a new sport! Gather a bunch of
your neighbors together for a friendly
game of basketball or soccer.
Tip
If you’re feeling nervous about meet-
ing new people, bring a friend from
outside the community!
Community Events
Your leasing staff might use this
summer as an opportunity to throw
a picnic, BBQ or holiday party for
residents - if so, go to the event! Not
only will it be a fun budget-friendly
activity during your staycation, but
it’ll help you build friendships with
your neighbors.
8
10. Spend time on your staycation attending local activities and
events such as a concert with your favorite artist or festival in
your own town or city.
Here's how you can find things to do in your community:

on USA.gov for upcoming activities.
Ticket Sales

future sports games, concerts and family-
friendly events
Local Radio Station

and in local and major newspapers for
special events or activities

perfectly fine to use for this, but you can
buy from a bakery or make your own if
you prefer.
Tips
1 tsp salt
1-1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
2 cups quick cooking oats
1 cup dried blueberries
1 cup mini marshmallows,
plus extra for topping cookies
1 cup butter, softened
1 cup white granulated sugar

1 tsp baking soda
Using a stand mixer, cream butter, granulated sugar
and brown sugar together for one minute. Then add
eggs into the mixture one at a time. Add vanilla to the
bowl and then begin adding flour, baking soda, salt and
cinnamon. Then add oats, dried blueberries, and mini
marshmallows. Chill for one hour in the refrigerator.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease the baking sheet.
Then, using a medium cookie scoop (holds about
1.5 tbsp of dough), begin scooping the cookie dough
and placing it on the baking sheet, keeping them
about 2-inches spaced apart. Once all the cookies
are placed on the baking sheet, begin to add 2-3 mini
marshmallows per cookie-flattening them into the
cookie.
Bake the cookies for 10 minutes. Then remove from the
oven, let them sit on the baking sheet for an additional
5-10 minutes. Lastly, place them on a cooling rack.
