8. STORAGE OF FRUITS The harvesting of fruits include the storage of fruits also which are stored according to the temperature and the type of fruits. Vegetables and fruits should be harvested through the season, as they reach ideal maturity. Here are certain fruits are given with their harvesting details and the following fruits may be with the same quality as fresh if they are being kept under the refrigeration cool of about 35 to 40 degree F. Fruits Apple storage tips Lightly scrub apples in cool water to remove the wax coating. Store apples in cool, dark place or keep them in plastic bags and store them in the crisper drawer of your refrigerator. Time 1 month Pineapple Increase the life span of pineapple by 3-5 days by refrigerating it in a perforated plastic bag. Would not ripen further after purchase. No increase in sugar during storage.
