Ibrahim Hussein was a renowned Malaysian artist known for his unique "printage" technique that combined printing and collage. He was born in 1936 in Kedah and studied art in Singapore and London, working odd jobs to support himself financially. Upon returning to Malaysia, he became a resident artist at the University of Malaya and later founded the Ibrahim Hussein Museum and Cultural Foundation. He saw painting as a spiritual experience and lived his life without worrying about the future. Ibrahim passed away in 2009 at the age of 73 after suffering a heart attack.
