Mr. Lamshed welcomed returning and new students to his class. He noted there would be some changes to how the class operates in 2012. The class website provides class notes, newsletters, and information to help students learn. Students will have their own learning blogs to publish work. Upcoming class experiences include a camp and aquatics program. Mr. Lamshed wants to meet any parents he has not met to facilitate student success and invites parents to provide their email address to stay updated.

BOYS NEWS
From Mr Lamshed’s Class
Term 1, Week 1, 2012
Welcome back! I hope everyone had a great Christmas holiday break. A special welcome to all of
the new students and families joining our class this year. I am looking forward to getting to know
you, and seeing what you bring to our class team. For those boys I had last year, you will see
some changes in the way we are doing things in 2012 and will learn all about these during the
first couple of weeks.
Our class website is up and running again this year, and will play a big part in our learning. It is
a place where we can share what we’ve been doing and also keep families up to date with what’s
happening in our classroom. You can find copies of notices and class newsletters on our ‘notes and
newsletters’ page, and students will also be able to access information to help with their learning.
Please take the time to visit our website at http://mrlamshedsclass.org and bookmark this page
to check back regularly for updates. Soon an overview of our learning for the term will be
available on the site. If you do not have internet access at home, or would prefer a paper copy of
the overview, please let me know. Each student will also have their own learning blog this year.
The boys will all publish many of their learning tasks on theses blogs. Over the next few weeks,
ask the boys to share their blog with you. This will be a great way to check in on what your son
has been doing at school.
We have a lot of exciting experiences planned for the year including our camp in week 4 and our
aquatics program at Port Noarlunga in week 8 of this term. If you would like to discuss either of
these please don’t hesitate to contact me.
To parents I have not met, It would be great to have an opportunity to meet you soon. I have
found that school and parents working together helps to set students up for success. I look
forward to working with you all this year.
Jarrod Lamshed
