Georgia O'Keeffe was an American artist born in 1887 in Wisconsin. She studied art in New York and was influenced by photographer Alfred Stieglitz. O'Keeffe is known for her paintings of large floral close-ups and Southwestern landscapes. Some of her most famous paintings include Oriental Poppies, White Trumpet Flower, and Cow's Skull with Calico Roses. O'Keeffe pioneered a unique style focused on abstraction and lived much of her life in New Mexico until her death in 1986.
