Genesis 1-26-28 We were made, We were created, we were made of dust, we were made in the image of God, we were made sinners, we were made righteous, we were made accepted, we were mad alive, we were made free, we were made sufficient, we were made to drink of one spirit, we were made perfect in unity, we were made fishers of men, we were made to sit with Christ, we were made kings and priests.
2. Genesis 1:26-28 Then God said, "Let Us make man
in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them
have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the
birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the
earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on
the earth." (27) So God created man in His own
image; in the image of God He created him; male
and female He created them. (28) Then God
blessed them, and God said to them, "Be fruitful
and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have
dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of
the air, and over every living thing that moves on
the earth.“
3. WE WERE MADE…
A. Genesis 1:26-28 Then God said, "Let Us make man
in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them
have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the
birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the
earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on
the earth.“ 27 So God created man in His own
image; in the image of God He created him; male
and female He created them. 28 Then God blessed
them, and God said to them, "Be fruitful and
multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have
dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of
the air, and over every living thing that moves on
the earth."
B. Mark 10:6 But from the beginning of the creation,
God 'made them male and female.‘
4. WE WERE MADE OF DUST
A. 1 Corinthians 15:46-49 However, the spiritual is not first,
but the natural, and afterward the spiritual. (47) The first
man was of the earth, made of dust; the second Man is
the Lord from heaven. (48) As was the man of dust, so
also are those who are made of dust; and as is the
heavenly Man, so also are those who are heavenly. (49)
And as we have borne the image of the man of dust, we
shall also bear the image of the heavenly Man.
B. Genesis 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of
the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of
life; and man became a living being.
C. Genesis 3:19 In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread
Till you return to the ground, For out of it you were taken;
For dust you are, And to dust you shall return.”
5. WE WERE MADE IN THE IMAGE OF GOD
A. James 3:8-9 But no man can tame the tongue. It is
an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. (9) With it we
bless our God and Father, and with it we curse men,
who have been made in the similitude of God.
B. Genesis 1:26-27 Then God said, "Let Us make man
in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them
have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the
birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the
earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on
the earth." (27) So God created man in His own
image; in the image of God He created him; male
and female He created them.
6. WE WERE MADE SINNERS
A. Romans 5:19 For as by one man's
disobedience many were made sinners, so
also by one Man's obedience many will be
made righteous.
B. Not inherited sin - Romans 5:12 Therefore,
just as through one man sin entered the
world, and death through sin, and thus
death spread to all men, because all
sinned—
7. IN CHRIST WE WERE MADE RIGHTEOUS
A. Romans 5:19 For as by one man's
disobedience many were made sinners, so
also by one Man's obedience many will be
made righteous.
B. 2 Corinthians 5:21 For He made Him who
knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might
become the righteousness of God in Him.
8. IN CHRIST WE WERE MADE ACCEPTED
• Ephesians 1:6 to the praise of the glory of His
grace, by which He has made us accepted in
the Beloved.
9. IN CHRIST WE WERE MADE ALIVE
A. 1 Corinthians 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in
Christ all shall be made alive.
B. Ephesians 2:1 And you He made alive, who were dead
in trespasses and sins,
C. Ephesians 2:5 even when we were dead in trespasses,
made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have
been saved),
D. Colossians 2:11-13 In Him you were also circumcised
with the circumcision made without hands, by putting
off the body of the sins of the flesh, by the circumcision
of Christ, (12) buried with Him in baptism, in which you
also were raised with Him through faith in the working
of God, who raised Him from the dead. (13) And you,
being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of
your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having
forgiven you all trespasses,
10. IN CHRIST WE WERE MADE FREE
A. FREE FROM THE OLD LAW Galatians 5:1 Stand fast
therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free,
and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.
B. FREE FROM THE LAW OF SIN AND DEATH Romans 8:1-4
There is therefore now no condemnation to those who
are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the
flesh, but according to the Spirit. (2) For the law of the
Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law
of sin and death. (3) For what the law could not do in that
it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His
own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin:
He condemned sin in the flesh, (4) that the righteous
requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not
walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.
11. IN CHRIST WE WERE MADE FREE
C. FREE FROM SIN John 8:34-36 Jesus answered
them, "Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever
commits sin is a slave of sin. (35) And a slave
does not abide in the house forever, but a son
abides forever. (36) Therefore if the Son makes
you free, you shall be free indeed.
D. FREE BY THE TRUTH John 8:31-32 Then Jesus said
to those Jews who believed Him, "If you abide in
My word, you are My disciples indeed. (32) And
you shall know the truth, and the truth shall
make you free.”
12. IN CHRIST WE WERE MADE SUFFICIENT
• 2 Corinthians 3:4-6 And we have such trust
through Christ toward God. (5) Not that we
are sufficient of ourselves to think of
anything as being from ourselves, but our
sufficiency is from God, (6) who also made us
sufficient as ministers of the new covenant,
not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the
letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.
13. IN CHRIST WE WERE MADE TO DRINK
OF ONE SPIRIT
• 1 Corinthians 12:13 For by one Spirit we were
all baptized into one body--whether Jews or
Greeks, whether slaves or free--and have all
been made to drink into one Spirit.
14. IN CHRIST WE WERE MADE PERFECT
IN UNITY
• John 17:22-23 And the glory which You gave
Me I have given them, that they may be one
just as We are one: (23) I in them, and You in
Me; that they may be made perfect in one,
and that the world may know that You have
sent Me, and have loved them as You have
loved Me.
15. IN CHRIST WE WERE MADE TO BE
FISHERS OF MEN
• Mark 1:17 Then Jesus said to them, "Follow
Me, and I will make you become fishers of
men.”
16. IN CHRIST WE WERE MADE TO SIT
TOGETHER
• Ephesians 2:6 and raised us up together, and
made us sit together in the heavenly places in
Christ Jesus,
17. IN CHRIST WE WERE MADE KINGS
AND PRIESTS
A. Revelation 1:5-6 and from Jesus Christ, the faithful
witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over
the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and
washed us from our sins in His own blood, (6) and has
made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to
Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
B. Revelation 5:9-10 And they sang a new song, saying:
"You are worthy to take the scroll, And to open its
seals; For You were slain, And have redeemed us to
God by Your blood Out of every tribe and tongue and
people and nation, (10) And have made us kings and
priests to our God; And we shall reign on the earth.”
18. ARE YOU IN CHRIST?
A. We are made all of these things “In Christ.”
B. All spiritual blessings are “in Christ.”
C. Are you “in Christ?”
D. The only way the bible ever says we can get “in
Christ” is through baptism.
E. Galatians 3:26-27 For you are all sons of God
through faith in Christ Jesus. (27) For as many of
you as were baptized into Christ have put on
Christ.
19. ARE YOU IN CHRIST?
F. Romans 6:3-5 Or do you not know that as many of
us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized
into His death? (4) Therefore we were buried with
Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ
was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father,
even so we also should walk in newness of life. (5)
For if we have been united together in the likeness
of His death, certainly we also shall be in the
likeness of His resurrection,
G. 1 Corinthians 12:13 For by one Spirit we were all
baptized into one body--whether Jews or Greeks,
whether slaves or free--and have all been made to
drink into one Spirit.
