• Modeling Tools: PRO-E,CATIA V5
EXPERIENCE
RENAULT NISSAN TECHNLOGY AND BUISNESS CENTER INDIA LIMITED
May 2012-Present Simulation Engineer in Research team Chennai, India
• A complete analysis of the engine assembly during the prototype stage and updating the
simulation procedure and test data is used to refine boundary conditions.
• Fatigue analysis of cylinder head, Block and Exhaust manifold –Predicting the Strength
and fatigue life (High/Low cycle fatigue) of the engine components under various
assembly and thermal loads.
• Bore distortion analysis - Predicting the cylinder bore deformation and fastening part edge
stress when fastening the head bolt at normal temperature.
• Analyzing the gasket pressure distribution (sealing), Valve alignment.
• Performing the thermal analysis – Understanding the location of high temperature areas
(hot spots) to assess material yielding .Optimizing the design, if in case of yielding occurs.
• Conjugate Heat transfer analysis – Predicting the real time phenomena like nucleate
boiling, considering multiphase material and thereby calculating wall temperature of
Cylinder head and Block.
• Transient gas flow analysis of Exhaust manifold –Provides boundary conditions for the
wall temperature calculation, analysis of thermal fatigue.
• Head Combustion chamber temperature –Predicting the CYL-HEAD combustion chamber
temperature distribution under each oil/water temperature condition, aiming at
improvement of the engine performance such as function reliability, as well as the
function limits.
2. NISSAN TECHNICAL CENTER
2012-2013 Trainee in power train department Atsugi, Japan
• Trained on outline of engine structural analysis and flow analysis
• Developed methodology for conjugate Heat transfer analysis of engine assembly.
WABCO INDIA LIMITED
2010-2012 Engineer in Research and development team Chennai, India
• Linear static analysis for various air brake products like Dual brake valve, Modulator
valve, Hand Control valve, Quick release valve etc.
• Steady state harmonic analysis for all chassis mounted components like brackets, top
covers etc.
• Transient dynamic analysis for the valve stoppers in the compressors, brake chambers etc.
• Nonlinear analysis of various seals and boots used in air brake products to predict its
squeeze level and contact pressure distribution.
• Fatigue life estimation for all the air brake system products-Fatigue life of the air brake
products are calculated in the design stage itself by using the stress life approach and
make the design first time right. Miner’s damage concept is used for finding the fatigue
life.
• Predicting the static response (braking time) of various air brake valves using AMESim.
• Experimental evaluations of damping coefficients -Damping coefficients are the key
factors which determine the dynamic behavior of the products. Exhaustive experimental
study has been carried out to find the damping ratio of the products and compared with
FEM results.
