School Days Essay
1. Essay about school days
Now that I am coming to the end of high school and to the beginning of my college education, it
scares me to death. Going to school has been one of my biggest priorities and the most routine part
of my life for the past thirteen years. I have many more years to get through, but the years that I
spent in elementary school and junior high were the most memorable. I have learned so much since
then, it has made me a different person today. I have so many memories from my earlier years in
school. I especially remember how much easier it was back then and how much harder it is
becoming now as I get older.

Especially since I would always get in trouble for it. For some reason I do not remember much about
first grade. I do not know if it was because it was just a boring year of school or because I just did
not like the teacher. One thing I do remember about first grade is that I won the spelling bee. That
was a big accomplishment for me in first grade. I think the challenge of first grade was the whole
reading concept. Learning how to read is very difficult for a little six year old. I was actually very
good at reading, which made me enjoy first grade a little more. I am just glad that it is over with.
When I was in second grade it was a big year for me. The main reason is because I made my First
Holy Communion. My family is very religious and they were very proud of me for making my
Communion. My teacher in second grade was Mrs. Lignowski. She was an old women, but she
was very nice. The main subject in second grade was of course religion, so it was not very
exciting was a child, but it means a lot in my life now. We would take many trips across the street
to the church and practice what we would do in a mass. I remember being absolutely terrified to
make a confession with Father Hanley. That was part of making your first Communion so we had
to do it. I of course did not confess my sins face–to–face, so I went in the confessional booth. It is
done and over with now, it still kind of makes me nervous if I were to do it to this day.

2. Benefits Of School Days
School days or should be hours or days should be shortened for the health of the students and
teachers. They are affected in many ways you would not even imagine. I believe school should
be shortened because students do not get proper rest and will be able to pay attention more in
class. Long hours of school is very hard on the students. These long days wear down a student as
the day goes along. You go to bed late because you are doing homework and then you get up at
six6 in the morning and go to school for eight8 hours and this repeats for five5 days a week. Many
scientists have done studies over this and have found that it is hard for kids to go through this
much schooling. This will causes students to act out and not want to do their work which makes
students not learn the material. This could set the student back for the rest of the year. Vintre
Majors said," long hours affect him tremendously." He said he gets home from basketball practice
and he is so tired that he just eats and goes to bed and does not do his homework. This sets himme
behind the next day and hei feesl like hei isam playing catch up all year long." Long hours also
affect the teachers. They come home from a long day of work and grade papers all night and
hardly get tohe spend time with their family. Their job is very stressful because they deal with
drama at school plus they have a long hard day with students that are tired and that do not want to
learn. Teachers need proper rest just like students do

3. Essay on A Day in School Life
A Day in School Life
The day begins with a high–pitched yell, "moooooooorninnnnng" from my mother. I wake up tired
with a headache as I think I have a cold. I rush to leave the house, my father complains about the
lack of urgency in my movement by shouting out the time every five minutes.
There is not enough time to drink my tea; the tea burns my tongue as I gulp it down my throat,
leaving a nasty taste. I ran as fast as I can towards my bus stop. Upon arriving I realize that despite
the hectic hurry of mornings I am actually early. "I really should tell my parents what time the bus
comes so my mornings can be more relaxed," I tell myself.

However, I come to realize that the squabbling penguins are not very interesting so I find
somewhere comfortable and detached to sit and my mind wanders off.
The official day starts with a tutor period. My mood is lifted as I make quite a few people laugh.
The first lesson is French. The teacher is absent so I am free to take part in a conversation with my
friend concerning the weekend. The teacher next door keeps telling us to keep quiet. For some
reason the rest of my fellow students feel the need to shout and keep getting louder after each
complaint.
The second period begins. The teacher ignores my enquiries as to whether we will be using the
"metro " book this lesson then yells at me for not having written the title in my book, even though
she hasn't started the lesson or even written the title on the board. When I point this out to the
teacher another student already distracts her. After twenty minutes, the tiredness sets in and hinders
my work effort. The headache from that morning begins to throb and my eyes are itchy and
bloodshot.
The mountain scenery contrasts against the blockish and uninspiring appearance of the school, as it
leaves a light and breezy atmosphere. The sea breeze carries a sense of freshness, which promotes an
industrious work ethic. However, during the summer months the stifling heat and humidity

4. My School Day
Buzz–buzz. My phone sounded promptly at 7:40 a.m. signaling the start of a new day. I groaned,
still drowsy from the 3 hours of sleep I got. My previous night was just an express train of college
applications and studying. A question manifested in my mind: "Should I go to school or just stay
home and finish my app?" I shrugged off my drowsiness and decided the first option. Today, after
all, is Halloween and I wanted to see the plethora of costumes decorating the school halls. I was
heading towards the shower, preparing for another day of school. However, what happens latter
this day will prove that it is no ordinary day, rather, one that will go down in history in infamy. The
day passed by slowly and and painfully, with nothing out of the ordinary. By 2:50, the end bell
rung and my school day was over. Usually I would head downstairs to the senior bar and hang out
before leaving, but today I decided to sprint home to finish my college application. During the
train ride, I was relaxing, tapping my feet along with the beat of the hip hop music blasting
through my Skullcandy earbuds. I closed my eyes, deciding to get some rest before I got home.
Little do I know that my afternoon will be spent worrying about something else bigger than my
future colleges. Once the train escapes from the confinements of underground, I decided to turn on
my data to check on my Facebook Feed. Once the LTE bar appeared, my phone flooded with the text
messages, Facebook messages, Facebook

5. Longer School Days Essay
Longer School Days
Schools are so much a part of our society, so the accurate length of school days is extremely
important. Public opinions on the length of the school days are different. There are a lot of
parents and professors concerned that it is hard for children to go to school early in the morning
and stay there the whole day. On the other side, some professors try to force students into a nine
hour school day. Not so many years ago, school was a main part of my life, and the school days'
structure and length affected my social life and ability to study. From my own experience and some
studies that I have seen, students benefit if school days are long.

According to a report from the New York City district, a school that received funds for longer days
fared better on standardized tests. This school had seven percent more students scoring at or
above grade level in reading, when two other schools had increases of five and six percent. In
math, three percent of students scored at or above grade level in a school with a longer day,
compared with one percent for a low performing school and an average of one percent for other
schools (Brett 1). This information is one example of many studies that illustrate that long school
days have a great positive impact on school performance. The main school goals are improving
students' knowledge and building different skills that will help them in the future. Therefore, if
longer school days support these educational goals, people should be concerned about improving
schools by lengthening the day.
Following parents' demands and school needs, some schools want a longer day. DeKalb middle
school in Atlanta already offers after–school enrichment programs and wants to offer all students the
extra hours of instruction. Marion Anders, executive director for DeKalb middle school, is doing
some things to reform the school. He is working on educational programs, where students spend at
list five hours per day in core academic subjects. Also, he asks for additional funds to pay teachers
extra to tutor low–achieving students in reading and math (Madison 16). Therefore, some

6. Shorter School Days Research
More time, less stress, and an easier learning environment, those are the benefits of having shorter
school days. On the other hand, you'd have you'd have a longer school year, and probably a bit
more responsibility. But in the end it is worth it, getting to sleep in, and actually being able to get
home at a decent time after sports. So would you agree that shorter school days are worth it?
We can all agree that school feels like it lasts forever. From the moment you walk into the second
you walk out. But just because the final bell rang doesn't mean that you're done. You still have to
go to practice, and don't forget the piles of homework that need done. But you see with shorter
school days you'd have more spare time to complete school work,
