The document summarizes the results of a questionnaire about music video viewing habits and preferences. It discusses 10 questions asked in the survey, including respondents' gender, age, how often they watch music videos, and what genres they prefer. Key findings include that most respondents were female aged 16-21 who watch music videos several times a week and enjoy pop and R&B genres. Respondents generally prefer music videos that clearly relate the narrative to the song lyrics over abstract videos with no obvious link.
3. Question 2. What age are you? For this question, I asked the respondents their ages as this could also vary my results of my questionnaire. The options I gave my respondents of the different age categories that they can fall into were 11-15, 16-21, 22-25, 26-30 and 31+. The majority of my respondents I asked were in the age category of 16-21 and there was one person in each age categories of 11-15, 22-25 and 26-30. However, I did not have any respondents that were aged 31+. To makes my results fairer, I could have asked a range of respondents from a wide range of ages and have more options of different age groups.
4. Question 3. Do you watch music videos? I decided to ask this question before asking my main questions about music videos is that if some people do not watch music videos then there would be no point of completing the rest of the questionnaire. Luckily all 15 of my respondents watch music videos, meaning that I have a full set of results from 15 respondents making it easier to analyse.
5. Question 4. How often do you watch music videos? For this question, I gave the options of Everyday, 3-5 times a week, Once a week, Less than once a week, Once a month and Hardly ever. From this question, I can tell from the results my respondents’ habits of watching music videos. It could also decide if music videos appeal to my respondents and if they are popular to watch. 8 out of my 15 respondents said they watch music videos 3-5 times a week and 6 people said they watch them everyday. This shows to me that music videos are quite popular and appeals to them. Nobody said they watch music videos less than once a week or once a month. However, 1 person said they hardly ever watch music videos which show that I have asked a variety of different people as that 1 person might not be too keen of music videos compared to those other of my 14 respondents.
6. Question 5. How do you watch music videos? As I wanted to know how people prefer to watch music videos, the results from this question will tell me that. I gave the options of Music Channels, Internet, Ipod/ Mp4, Mobile phone and Other (Please Specify). From looking at these results, majority of my respondents watches music videos on music channels and on the internet and only a few of my respondents watches music videos on Ipod/Mp4. However, nobody watches using their mobile phone or any other use of media. This surprised me as majority of people nowadays use their mobile phone daily due to the increase of technology and I would have thought people would use their phones to also watch videos. However, I should have asked for my respondents for one answer as this help define a clearer answer and a more reliable result.
7. Question 6. What genre do you enjoy listening to or watching the most? I decided to ask this question as I wanted to find out what type of music people are into. I gave the categories of RnB, Pop, Dance, Rap, Rock, Indie and Other (Please Specify). The majority of my respondents like the genre Pop and R&B. This shows to me that these are the popular choices and are what most people are into. However, I also got a range of many ticks from the other genres of Dance, Rock and Indie. This suggests that I have a range of different respondents as they all into different genres of music, showing their individuality. I also got 3 ticks for Rap and for Other- Swing, Alternative and Folk. This shows that there are so many different genres that my respondents are into and enjoy listening. To get a more accurate result, I should have more options of other different genres and to get my respondents to only tick one. This would make it easier to analyse as I would have a clearer answer.
