This document discusses various sanitizers used to keep swimming pools clean and hygienic. It describes chlorine, ozone, bromine, biguanide, salt chlorine, and ionization as common sanitizers. Chlorine, available in liquid, tablet, and granular forms, is the most widely used and effective at killing bacteria and algae. Other sanitizers like ozone, bromine, and biguanide also help eliminate contaminants while salt chlorine generates chlorine through electrolysis and ionization releases metals to sanitize pools over time. Proper sanitization is important for maintaining clean, healthy pool water.
2. Cleanliness In Pool
• Swimming pool is constructed for many purposes, regardless of
the purpose, they should be maintained with optimum
sanitization.
• Periodical cleaning of the pools will keep the environment
healthy and hygienic.
• Since pools are the stagnated water, the dust also will get
stagnant and will become breaded place for algae and fungus.
• Cleaning and sanitization will keep the pool neat and clean.
• Some of the predominant sanitizers for pool are listed in the
further slides.
3.
4. Chlorine
• Chlorine is most widely used sanitizers for the
pool(https://1articles.wordpress.com/2016/08/06/chlorine-
for-the-infection-free-swimming-pools/).
• They are found in liquid, tablet and granular form.
• The liquid and granular are in shock treatment of the pool.
• It is more sufficient to look for the chlorine level, as excess
chlorine content in water leads to more effects
5.
6. Ozone
• This sanitizer is available in the form of gas.
• Ozone sanitizer is developed by ionization process.
• This is one of the strongest oxidizer compared to chlorine.
• Only little quantity is required for the addition and they helps
in reduction of the dust accumulation.
• With ozone, pool maintenance time interval can be increased.
7.
8. Bromine
• Bromine works similarly to chlorine but the byproducts used
in the bromine manufacture is the difference.
• They protect from the residues of the pool, thus the
sanitization period is increased more.
• They are less smelly compared to chlorine.
• Bromine is the expensive oxidizer for sanitation.
• Due to affect effect from Sun and UV rays, they are used most
in the indoor pools and spas.
9.
10. Biguanide
• Biguanide other wise called as PHMB(Polyhexamethylene
Biguanide) is the very unique and user friendly sanitizer.
• They kill the algae and bacteria at very initial stage.
• They stay in the pool for longer duration and they are made
effective by adding the hydrogen peroxide sanitizer.
• This is applies for any type of
pools(http://www.slideshare.net/leeshin12/types-of-
swimming-pools-for-residents )
11. Salt Chlorine
• This sanitizer formed in salt water by applying electricity.
• Salt chlorine sanitizer has the recycling property and the
chlorine formation is more in these pools.
• The allergies and irritation are reduced with this sanitizers.
• The excessive salt content in this sanitizer cause corrosion
problem to the pools
12.
13. Ionization
• This is the inexpensive sanitization method which is
considered to be the alternative sanitization process.
• They function by releasing certain hard metals and copper to
the water.
• The copper and silver outcomes into pool will kill the algae
formation, bacteria and many other disease causing sources.
• This is the slow process and requires certain duration to
trigger the sanitation process
14.
15. • These are some of the sanitizers employed in the pools to
maintain the cleanliness and hygienic nature of the pool.
• Prime Pool Care (http://primepoolcare.com.au) is one of the
pool maintenance service providers in and around the area of
sydney and they have come up with many techniques to
maintain the pool with complete sanitation treatment.
