2. Introduction
The founder of the Kol Yaakov Torah
Center, Rabbi Leib Tropper is a strong
advocate of religious education. Rabbi
Leib Tropper studied at several
yeshivas, including Telshe Yeshiva in
Cleveland, Ohio.
3. About Orthodox Jews, Telshe
Yeshiva
Known the world over to Orthodox Jews, Telshe
Yeshiva began in Lithuania in 1875. The German
occupation in World War II forced faculty and
students of the institution to immigrate to the
United States, where classes resumed in 1941.
Cleveland was chosen because the leadership of
the yeshiva felt they could have a greater impact
there.
Although the size of the student body had
decreased in recent years, it is currently
increasing. Registration for the ninth grade alone
has gone from 15 to 30. A capital campaign
raised some $800,000 in 2012, and school
leaders expect similar success this year.
4. Conclusion
The executive vice president of the
school observed that in addition to
promoting scholarship on the Torah,
the school also dedicates itself to the
improvement of the Jewish people as
a whole.
