Tony Stark's Character Growth in Iron Man In the beginning of Iron Man, the main protagonist,
Tony Stark, was generally a bad person. He was an extreme example of the celebrity stereotype––
flashy, arrogant, self–absorbed, and rude. Stark took personal honors, as well as relationships with
others, for granted. But that all changed when Stark was kidnapped by a terroristic rebel group.
During his time as a prisoner, Tony saw what horrors his technology could be used for, and later
escaped captivity humbled and changed. From the moment he returned, Stark's character started

Oftentimes these extremely powerful weapons ended up in the wrong hands, like insurgents. When
Tony's convoy was attacked, a rocket lodged into the ground in front of him, bearing the inscription
of Tony's own corporation. Upon his return, having seen the horrors of his weaponry firsthand,
Stark set out to right the wrongs. At his first press conference after coming home, Tony said, "I saw
young Americans killed by the very weapons I created to defend them and protect them. And I saw

the finish of his Audi R8 than the fate of the free world unless it benefitted him. Taking a
completely different direction, Tony used his Iron Man suit to pursue those who wrongfully used

"Jane Eyre," a fiction novel by Charlotte BrontГ«, is a first person narrative story about the main
character, Jane Eyre. Jane, an orphan, is raised by her aunt (her deceased uncle's wife) who wants
little to do with her. Jane is thus sent to Lowood, a school for girls, where she acquaints herself
with a girl called Helen Burns, ends up dying of consumption. Eventually, Jane gets a job as a

he was a squeezing, wrenching, grasping, scraping, clutching, covetous, matured sinner!

there seems to be more instances of bravery than any other novel in my opinion.
Being brave has a lot more to do than you just standing up to your fears. It has many other
complications like standing up for something that you think is right when others tell you to stand
down. Bravery is doing things that others would not. With those statements of bravery let's prove
how Harry Potter shows traits of bravery in the chamber of secrets. In chapter fifteen, "Aragog",
Harry stays on the trail when Ron wants to leave yelling "No Ron we have to get this done". He
shows bravery by staying in the forest when fear overtakes his body. He also shows bravery in
chapter sixteen, "The chamber of secrets", when he fights and kills the basilisk to stop Tom
Riddle from killing Ginny Weasley by "Throwing his whole weight into the sword and plunging
the sword into the roof of the basilisk's mouth. Those are all instances of bravery and shows just
how brave Harry Potter is in the second novel, "The chamber of secrets". The second word I would
use to describe Harry Potter is being kind.

Author Geoffrey Chaucer describes in–depth several characters who intend to embark on a religious
pilgrimage in his piece The Canterbury Tales. One of the prominently featured characters is the

revealed by Chaucer when he describes how the Friar would react to an encounter with a direly
impoverished woman. Chaucer predicts, "Should a woman have no shoes against the snow, So
pleasant was his 'In principio' He would have her widow's mite before he went" (68 lines 245–247).
It is quite uncommon to characterize a friar, whose duty it is to minister to the poor, as an
individual who would express no willingness to aid a woman in desperate poverty. Yet Chaucer
describes the Friar as one who would exhibit such an indifferent, cold–hearted response. In both of
these scenarios, Chaucer illustrates the Friar's contrasting interactions with the public and his lovers,
which reveals his disingenuous personality. Not only does the discrepancy between public and

In Alchemist, Paulo Coelho describes the story of a young shepherd named Santiago, who found a

Biographical Sketch Charlotte Bronte was born in Thornton, Yorkshire in 1816, to Patrick and
Maria Bronte. Maria died five years later and left the care of her six children to her unpleasant aunt,
Elizabeth Branwell. Within a few years, Charlotte's older sisters, Maria and Elizabeth, died from
tuberculosis due to a typhoid outbreak at the Cowan Bridge School. The school also largely
represented the Lowood Institution in Bronte's novel, Jane Eyre. Charlotte completely despised
Cowan Bridge School, and she bashed the academy for its "harsh religious doctrine and unsanitary
conditions" (Shuttleworth). Bronte expresses her dreadful experience at Cowan Bridge School in
Jane Eyre, where Jane also endures harsh treatment at the Lowood Institution. However, Bronte
mitigated the dreadfulness in her novel since pamphlets were published defending the school and
its proprietors. Charlotte's father rarely communicated with her and her siblings, and they also had

most of his life, trusting another military friend would be common and therefore Othello had no
reason to not trust iago. So it can be said that Othello has tragic weaknesses, one being too
trustworthy. Many times Othello does not see the evil acts of iago. He is used to dealing with
military people on the battlefield, where you put your life in the hands of others. In this situation
trust is very important. Othello says that iago is a man of honor and trust and therefore has no reason
to doubt his honesty.

A Man Who Had No Eyes: Markwardt Character Sketch In the short story "A Man Who Had No
Eyes" by MacKinlay Kantor, one of the main characters is Markwardt, a blind beggar who comes up
to another man to ask for money. Markwardt is the type of person who is so self–indulgent; he will
do just about anything to get what he wants which in this case is money. Instead of looking at the
brighter side of things, he looks at everything negatively and uses mendacity and psychological
manipulation through the usage of his sad stories to bring pity to the people he is speaking to in
order to gain his own rewards. Markwardt is an old and disheveled man who lost his eyesight in a
chemical explosion that occurred 14 years prior to the events of the story. Markwardt is described
as being a shaggy, thick–necked fellow, wearing a greasy coat with lapels and pockets, presumably
to store money. He not only has a long beard, which further exemplifies his age, but also long
nails, most likely due to a lack of proper hygiene. Furthermore, due to the fact that he is blind and
homeless, he carries a battered cane to allow for walking along with a black pouch that he hangs
over his shoulders. Moreover, his physical size is depicted to be quite large, at least, larger than the
normal man. Overall, Markwardt is illustrated as the average homeless man with the added

Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela was the first black president of South Africa and the first elected in a
fully representative democratic election. Rolihlahla Mandela was born into the Madiba clan in the

Bernard Marx Character Analysis
One of Brave New World's profound characters is Bernard Marx. Bernard is an Alpha male who
people rumor to have alcohol in his blood, which portrays him as an outsider to the caste system. His
shortness in height is abnormal to any Alpha. As an Alpha–plus, he is one of the highest rankings
out of most of his fellow companions. While everyone and everything in society is perfect, Bernard
is not. He may have flaws, but that doesn't stop him from being clever and intelligent. When
Bernard takes Lenina on a date, all she can think is that he is "odd, odd, odd," (Huxley 87).
Throughout the novel, all of the characters must attend the Solidarity Service including Bernard.
During the service, everyone is elating where as Bernard is not having the best of times. Although he
participates in the service, he does not participate whole–heartedly. Similar to everyone else, he
involves himself in the communion and afterwards takes a dose of soma. From the beginning to the
end of the service, though, his emotions made no change whatsoever. "He was as miserably isolated
now as he had been when the revive began–more isolated by reason of his unreplenished emptiness,
