Role models have an astounding effect on the lives of young people in our society. A role model
has the ability to shape the views, ideals, and actions of a young person. Role models help youth
to discover how they wish to become in the future. The influence that role models have over young
people is tremendous. It is important for role models to be positive and responsible in instilling
good morals and values because future generations are directly dependent on the role models of
today. By examining the influence of role models, role models in the community, and role models in
the media, we will be able to determine the true effect that role models have on the lives of youth.
Community role models are people that youngsters interact...show more content...
For example, a role model who is a thief may cause a young person to believe that stealing is
acceptable and tolerable, which it is not. Community role models definitely need to step up and take
a more prevalent role in the lives youth.
Role models in the media are also essential for young people. These are idols, actors, athletes,
authors, politicians, revolutionaries or any other person who is known because of their fame.
Media role models have a high influence over young people because they are often placed on a
pedestal, and worshipped like gods. It is important for youth to be wary of negative media role
models because they may glamorize truly wrong values. An example of this is seen if we look at
Paris Hilton. She lives a fascinating and alluring lifestyle, yet was convicted for driving under the
influence of alcohol. Because of her, many other young girls may believe that drinking and driving
is okay, or even cool. Role models in the media are important because of the widespread effect they
have on youth all over the world.
The influence that role models have over young people is vast and great. Role models can affect a
young person's beliefs, or possibly change their entire outlook on life. Young people may want to
imitate the desirable traits they see in role models. Role models can also have an effect on one's
decision–making process. The choices a young person makes in life are directly associated with his

Role Models Of A Good Role Model
1)A role model is "a person whose behavior, example, or success is or can be emulated by others,
especially by younger people."("the definition of role model", 2016). A good role model has to
demonstrate multiple qualities . They are people who other employees look to in times of crisis
and for support as well. Role models have to lead by example and demonstrate abilities that reflect
what the organization requires of the employees. The status of role models is much like the
status of celebrities where each move they make, be it professional or in social context is judged,
but unlike celebrities the role models actions also impact the reputation of their organization. A
good role model 's qualities are many but I personally have nine that i want to discuss and believe
are essential. These qualities are;" Optimism, Confidence, Hard work, Uniqueness,
Communication, Respect, Knowledge, Well Rounded and Empathy." (Western, 2016) Firstly i
believe if i were a role model i would want to be optimistic. I would like to explore new
opportunities as well as explore new horizons and to challenge myself to achieve things others
think impossible. This encourages employees at work and in life. Carrying oneself with
confidence says a lot about a person. It makes you look sure of yourself when dealing with tasks
knowing that you can and will complete it. This rubs off on employees as well. Success without
hard work is impossible. I believe if you want others to work hard for you, you

My Role Models
My parents were born during the Great Depression and by the time I was born they lived an upper
middle class neighborhood in the 1960s. I was the last child of five in my family and separated
by many years from my other siblings, so at times I felt like an only child. My mother while well
meaning, I would come to discover later in my life that she suffered from bio polar disorder with
anxiety. This made my formative years difficult and my sisters often acted as my parent, when my
mom couldn't and became role models for me. My father did work a lot during my early years,
however, he always made a priority when he was home. When I was ten years old, my mother
decided that they would divorce. During this time period and in my neighborhood this was
unheard of and many of my childhood friends were no longer allowed to associate with me. My
sisters and brothers had moved out of the house by this time in their lives and I was left alone to
face the divorce and I felt betrayed by them and no longer emulated them.
My father moved out and I would spend weekends with him and we would do everything together,
he would also talk to me on the phone every day and take time to help me with my math
homework. During these years my mother often made poor decisions in relationships and jobs,
but my dad was my place of comfort during these crazy times. He was my role model and the person
I most admired for most of my life. "Most [respondents] describe their role model as someone they

Negative Role Models Essay
The Negative Influences of Celebrities Public figures are famous for their actions and behaviors
that are universal to the world. Just because they have money and fame does not mean they
should be role models. The title of role model should be given to people who have a positive
influence on the society. Children do not actually sit or see their role models everyday like their
best friends. That is why they should have role models they can interface and have a real
relationship with. Even though many celebrities do plenty of charity to communities, they can still
have unacceptable behaviors in society. Many teenagers can be negatively influenced by their
celebrity role models because actors and actresses often make poor decisions or have...show more

Therefore, many teens are unaware that their celebrity role models are in fact causing them short
term physical harm and are negatively impacting their long term mental health. Celebrities are
not completely honest to the public in which they don't actually show their whole lives on TV
and try to hide their negative behaviors from their public. However, celebrities often do not care
if their fans are aware of their poor and careless decisions or the consequences they might have on
their fans. For instance, "Many celebrities don't make a secret of alcohol or drug abuse and the
glamorization of dying due to an overdose in the media might make your child feel that using these
substances is acceptable," (Martinez). Watching celebrities take drugs and at the same time achieve
what is viewed by many teens as "the perfect life " deceives teenagers that abusing substances are
not completely harmful and that success can be reached while doing drugs. Celebrities showing
their poor behaviors can make their young fans adopt them to become like them in every way.
Moreover, "Nor do they always understand that the actors may have entirely different personalities
when they are off–camera," (Hamlett). Many actors and actresses show false personalities in
interviews which they try to win over their fans with.

My Role Model Essay
My Role model outside my family Various times in life we come through an influential person
that lives a great and powerful impact in our lives. When people think about a role model, they
envision famed people such as actors, athletes, singers and much more. In my opinion, a role
model develops to be someone that has positively impacted lives, and it's not an individual that is
full of selfishness and pride. A role model has eminent values and they influence others with them.
This role model should be the one that you can be confident to talk about complications and will

Eliza makes the best jokes, and she is crazy in the best way. In addition, she always distinguishes
when is the right moment for jokes, games and the serious situations. With her, I can have
meaningful conversations and also have the greatest time laughing and having a great time. In
addition to her attitude, I also admire Eliza's love for God. I always enjoy being around people
who influence me positively and encourage me to deepen my relationship with God. Eliza does
just that. Eliza reminds me to be thankful to God and devote time to God each day. She personally
does this in her own life and overflows with joy, hope, and faith. Additionally, Eliza is always
available to give me endless advice or emphasize valuable lessons to me. However, while she
discerns good and bad and does not hide her opinion, she is extremely gentle and never
judgmental. Eliza's favorite Bible verse is "The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still."
Eliza's constant reminders of this verse continually impact me. Jesus vows to look after us and
defend us. Nonetheless, it is not difficult to forget this

Role Models
By definition, a role model is one whose behavior, example, or success is emulated by others.
Today, athletes and other sport stars are looked up to by people of all ages. Everyone loves them,
they appear on television with the entire world watching. Athletes are known for their wealth, talent,
and fame. We admire them as our leaders with their determination and confidence. No wonder we
always make heroes out of favorite athletes. They are seen as role models because they can do what
we cannot.

Role Model Interview Research Paper
For the role model interview project, I chose to interview one of my closest friends, Erin. I
decided to interview her because in addition to looking up to her, I felt comfortable talking to her
and I knew that she would answer these questions honestly and openly. The interview took place
through video chat simply because we could not go over to each other's houses and I didn't think
asking these private questions in a public place such as school would not be appropriate. We
talked to each other after school so that we would have plenty of time to get through all the
questions without having some sort of limit. While she was the person I chose as my role model,
she had chosen her dad as her own role model. A role model is hardworking, empowering, and
selfless. To begin with, a role model is hardworking. Erin's dad had to overcome many obstacles in
his early life. "He was not from the richest family and had many financial issues. He also had to
experience many of his close family members dying. As he grew older, he was able to build himself
a career and become...show more content...
Erin was explaining how her father had an impact on her daily life. "I've learned to be less selfish
and to help others in need. During last Thanksgiving, he brought my sister and I to a local soup
kitchen. For a few hours, we made and packaged food to give to the homeless" (Kinaci). This
describes how Erin's dad is trying to get her into the habit of volunteering to do good deeds for
people who are not as privileged as her. When you finally stop thinking about yourself and start to
think about others, you are lending them a helping hand and pulling them from their dark struggles
such as poverty to the light–filled side of opportunities such as a new beginning. As a role model, it
is important to be selfless because you are giving hope to those who need it in order to keep going.
You are also voluntarily leading others to the path of accomplishment and

My Role Model Essay
When growing up, there is always someone there for you to look up too. From your guardians, or
even your older siblings or classmates. You start learning from those you look at and want to be
like them. These people change; as does your life when you age. I have many people who inspire
me since you can't just have a sole person. The ones who inspire me truly are my own peers and
friends.
My view of role models has changed greatly from when I was younger. When I was little I wanted to
be like my parents and like Batman and celebrities. Now I see people as their own inspirations.
One of my role models I met at a convention. She was an artist and had an amazing display of

These are the examples that I am going to be when I get there and when they are working at their
best, I feel the need to do the same. Sure they are not the perfect role models and they make many
mistakes, but that is what makes them great. They fall, fail, and make mistakes, but they recognize
those flaws and mistakes and take responsibility for them, as well as doing better the next time;
showing how you can still be a good person and do great things even if you mess up. You just need
to learn from those mistakes.
The ones who are a large parts of my goals are my friends and peers. They isnpire me to do the
things I love and achieve their feets as well. Even when they are faced with challenges they are
determined enough to overcome them and admit to the flaws they wear like battle scars. They are
the people I am growing up with and those who are already starting their next chapter. I see them and
want to be like them. Strong and independent, but humble enough to know that they will need
help. Even with them being the biggest inspiration, it is hard to choose a soul inspiration. I am
inspired by my environment to be a better person; as well as by myself. I am inspired by all the
people who try to do good and be their own kind of hero. That way, I can use all of them to be the
best person I can be. When I grow up, these are the people I will have to take the place of, but that's
not what it is about. The goal is to surpass all the good deeds today and do even

Essay on Martin Luther King as a Role Model
Martin Luther King as a Role Model Everyone has someone that they look up to. It may be a hero
or a role model. Martin Luther King serves as a role model for many African Americans because of
his contributions and fight towards civil rights. King became very popular and touched the lives of
many. According to Robert A. Divine and other authors of America Past and Present, the arrest of
Rosa Parks sparked a massive protest movement that witnessed the emergence of Martin Luther
King, Jr., as an eloquent new spokesman for African Americans. King led a prominent bus boycott in
honor of Mrs. Parks. The boycott successfully ended a...show more content...
On March 28, 1968, King led a march through Memphis, Tennessee, which, like all his marches, was
intended to have been peaceful and non–violent. But thanks to a gang called "The Invaders," the
march disintegrated into rioting and looting. King barely escaped the March 28 event unharmed, and
swore to return to Memphis and "conduct this demonstration properly – with no violence." The date
for the new march was set at April 4, 1968. This time, King would not survive his fateful trip to
Memphis. Additionally, local newspapers criticized King when he announced he was coming back to
Memphis for a second round. Among other comments, the local press criticized him for staying at a
white–owned Holiday Inn, instead of the Motel Lorraine, which was black–owned. Hoping to avoid
further antagonistic press in wake of the disastrous March 28 demonstration, King's camp
switched his accommodations to a room at the Motel Lorraine, where he died on April 4. From a
security standpoint, changing King's lodging to this particular motel was a bad mistake. The
Motel Lorraine was located in a fairly seedy part of town. The day before King arrived, someone
claiming to be an advance security man dropped by the Lorraine Hotel and changed King's
reservation from a ground–floor room to a second–floor balcony room, saying, "Dr. King always

Essay on The Importance of Good Role Models
The Importance of Good Role Models
Charles Barkley stands in a dimly lit gym with a basketball squeezed between his beefy hands. He
is only filming a commercial. Or is he? As he looks squarely into the camera, he declares, " I am
not a role model...I am paid to wreak havoc on the basketball court" (Smith 1). After he says this, a
question begins to form in the minds of the viewers. Who, then Charles, should be a role model?
Now, just because this is a commercial for a basketball shoe does not mean Charles Barkley does
not have a reply floating around in that shiny bald head of his. He retorts, "Parents should be role
models. Just because I dunk a basketball, doesn't mean I should raise your kids" (1). Whether many

That is why it is time for a change. That is why it is time for qualified people and people who want
to be role models to be given a chance to be role models. Athletes such as Charles Barkley have
recognized this need for a change. Dave Winfield, a former major– league baseball player with such
teams as the New York Yankees and the former California Angels, recognizes this need for a
change. He believes that athletes should not be the primary role models in a child's life. Instead
parents, not athletes, entertainers or politicians, should claim the position of being a role model
(Berlow 31). This statement not only speaks for itself, but it also poses an interesting question. If
athletes themselves continue to declare themselves ineligible to be a role model, then why do
people continually allow their children to admire these athletes for more than his/her sports
abilities? At this point in time, the parents should know better. Parents would not allow their kids
to admire some hoodlum on the street, but because sports are in a controlled atmosphere, they do
not see the dangers in athletes being role models. As Charles Barkley puts it, "There are a million
guys in jail who can play ball. Should they be role models? Of course not" (Berlow 35). Yet, many
parents do not realize or do not want to admit that many athletes have a good amount of time on the
"other" side of the law. The big message here is that being a

Lionel Messi as a Role Model Essay
When people ask what my favorite sport is, I quickly reply soccer. I never really gave much thought
to who my favorite soccer player is until I saw Lionel Messi for the first time. I saw him play for
Argentina and he showed me how great soccer really is. He has a great style of both teamwork
and individual skill. The ability he has to keep control of the ball is what made me interested in
soccer. Without him, who knows if I would even begin to enjoy soccer. He shows both individual
skill and the importance of teamwork. He does not only score a ton of goals, but also gives many

There came a time in his career where Messi could have easily shot the ball into the net himself,
but instead, he passed the ball to a player who had never scored before. The player did indeed
score and Messi celebrated along with the other player. This demonstrated to me that it does not
necessarily take individual skill to win, but more teamwork. This showed me that it is better to
loose as a team than to win as an individual. Messi is one of the greatest soccer players to ever live,
in my opinion, but that does not automatically mean that his team is only good because of him,
but rather more that he is great because of his team. No matter where Lionel Messi is, on the field
or off, he always has a good attitude and shows sportsmanlike conduct towards the apposing team.
Lionel Messi is a role model to people all across the world. This very man is the type of man that
you would find congratulating the other team if they won rather than getting extremely mad or
getting extremely upset. This is not the type of person that you would find bragging about
himself, but more or less the kind of person you would find staying silent about his great

absolutely my favorite sport. No such memory comes to mind of when I knew nothing of Lionel
Messi. Now, he is my idol. He shows support and

Essay about Why Athletes are Good Role Models
Why Athletes are Good Role Models
Ever since the ancient years, we have admired athletes and the hard work that they do to achieve
their goal of winning. We idolize them and wish we were more like them. What happens though
when the realization sinks in that they are human too and that some of them do get greedy and
selfish? A lot of athletes are model citizens that you should really look up to, but there are also
some bad apples in the bunch that ruin it for everyone. Athletes can inspire young people to work

Michael Jordan has started a foundation that donates money for research to help physically

Gambling is no crime, so then he is not showing us a negative thing. If parents disapprove of him

athletes as well, is aware that he is constantly being watched by millions and tries to act accordingly.
There has been a major controversy in the NBA lately thanks to Charles

True role models are those who possess the qualities that we would like to have. Role models are

How would I ensure that my work goals and plans reflect the organisation's goals and plans?
To ensure that my work goals and plans reflect the organisation's goals and plans, first I would
identify what the organisation's goals and plans are. The identification can be done by examining
the organisation's strategic and operational plans. Strategic plans sent out an organisation's goals
or what it hopes to achieve over a specified period of time, usually three or five years. Operational
plans also focus on an organisation's goals. Unlike strategic plans, they focus on a shorter period of
time, often just one year and they tend to be more detailed and outline exactly what each work unit
needs to achieve in any given year. Besides examining the organisation's strategic and operational
plans which can be time consuming, another way to find out about the vision and strategic direction
of the organisation is to consult a manager or a supervisor. In particular, ask them to explain what
the goals for the organisation are with facts and figures. Tell the manager or supervisor what tasks I
can be doing that will help the team.
How would I ensure that I meet my job responsibilities?
To ensure that I meet my job responsibilities, I would undertake formal performance evaluations
which provide opportunities for me to assess my work in collaboration with the managers or

Role Model Essay
A role model is a person who inspires and encourages us to strive for greatness, live to our fullest
potential, and see the best in ourselves. A role model is someone we admire and someone we
inspire to be like. Most kids of today pick their role models from who they see on TV. Role
models are a large part of everyone's lives. Every person is looking for something different when
searching for the best role model for them. But who makes a good model? The celebrities that kids
are looking up to are adults that partake in adult and illegal behavior such as partying, drinking, and
drugs that lead into violence. Would you consider that a good role model material? Celebrities

tell your kids how to act or how not to act because I'm still figuring that out for myself. To take that

are still kids their self, growing up and learning from their own mistakes. So how are we going to
let our kids look up to other kids? Then of course there are others who see celebrities as good role

When I told her I wanted to go into music, flute performance especially, she knew that it would be
challenging and that I'd be looking for jobs left and right. But she also knew that I was a good
player and key figure in the musical world both in my school, state and country, having performed
in Europe. Flute is one of the most difficult instruments to be proficient in and master. However,
she held me high and let me do what I knew I loved instead of encouraging me to go into a more
"stable" field.
Some may say it's easy to choose your mother for a role model, that it's a no–brainer. Not so. Not
only does my mother have a professional attitude worth emulating, she has the attitude of a child,
too. None of my other friends' mom's are willing to stick their tongue at you while telling you "I
told you so!", in jest of course.
I've seen my mother play first string violin at a packed concert house and I've seen her dance and
be–bop around the house, mocking my sister and me. I think she's so cool for driving a
convertible at age 43, still looking young and not losing that youthful soul. She's got better
fashion sense than I do. We go shopping and have a blast every time. I think she's the greatest for
being able to come home from a long day of practicing Psychotherapy, dealing with people crazier
than I, and just chill out in the living room with me, a glass of wine and Jerry Springer. Either that
or Real World.

My Role Model Of My Life Essay
Kevin Lamount Coley, my role model. The only male figure in my life that I want to be like. I
use to mimic all your actions from your laugh to your serious face, your truly an outstanding man.
Although my father and I don 't see eye to eye all the time and he can also get on my nerves
sometimes. My Dad 's dedication and perseverance are absolutely fantastic; he always has, and a
never give up attitude. I couldn 't fathom any other male figure being my father also I don 't want
anyone other than the dad I have right now. There are endless reasons on why my Dad means so
much to me, he does so much and looks for no reward. He goes above and beyond the call of duty
every day, he is a leader in our community as well. My Dad is an entrepreneur, so he owns his own
business. I've seen days where my dad is sick, but he still gets up around five o'clock in the morning
and goes to work. He doesn't take days off; I remember asking him "Dad, how do you do it? How do
you push yourself to get up and work so hard every day?" And my Dad responded by saying this,
"I do it because I enjoy seeing you guys happy." At first, I didn't understand what he was implying,
but as I started to ponder on his words, it became apparent to me what he had meant. When my
father gets paid, he doesn't spend a dime on himself. He always makes sure my siblings and I are
taken care of first before anything. Then he takes care of my mom's needs; my dad is selfless. Not
once has he ever not provided, there's

The Teacher As Role Models
As an educator you get faced with the task everyday whether or not it is your responsibility to
teach moral values and to develop good character traits in students in your classroom. What people
do not realize is that teaching is much more than just the information in the textbooks and for that
reason, I do believe that it is the educator's job to teach moral values and to develop good character
traits in students. As an educator, you have to be able to teach the whole student, you have to be
willing to teach them life lessons, and not just educate the student based on the standards of the
textbooks. It was expected that when children went to public schools that they were to be taught
moral values. As stated by Angela Lumpkin in her article entitled, "Teachers as Role Models,
Teaching Character and Moral Virtues," found on the CSU Chino database, she states, "When public
schools were established in the United States in the 18th and 19th centuries, one of their stated
missions was to teach moral virtues (Lumpkin 45)." I found this very interesting because since
public school came about, no one had a problem, in fact they were expecting, teachers to teach moral
virtues in the classroom. Nowadays, as an educator, you have to be very careful about what you
teach in the classroom because you don't want to offend anyone, but that does not mean you should
only be teaching children the standards out of the textbook. Continuing on with Lumpkin's article
she says, "Teachers back then

Essays On Role Models

  • 1. Role models have an astounding effect on the lives of young people in our society. A role model has the ability to shape the views, ideals, and actions of a young person. Role models help youth to discover how they wish to become in the future. The influence that role models have over young people is tremendous. It is important for role models to be positive and responsible in instilling good morals and values because future generations are directly dependent on the role models of today. By examining the influence of role models, role models in the community, and role models in the media, we will be able to determine the true effect that role models have on the lives of youth. Community role models are people that youngsters interact...show more content... For example, a role model who is a thief may cause a young person to believe that stealing is acceptable and tolerable, which it is not. Community role models definitely need to step up and take a more prevalent role in the lives youth. Role models in the media are also essential for young people. These are idols, actors, athletes, authors, politicians, revolutionaries or any other person who is known because of their fame. Media role models have a high influence over young people because they are often placed on a pedestal, and worshipped like gods. It is important for youth to be wary of negative media role models because they may glamorize truly wrong values. An example of this is seen if we look at Paris Hilton. She lives a fascinating and alluring lifestyle, yet was convicted for driving under the influence of alcohol. Because of her, many other young girls may believe that drinking and driving is okay, or even cool. Role models in the media are important because of the widespread effect they have on youth all over the world. The influence that role models have over young people is vast and great. Role models can affect a young person's beliefs, or possibly change their entire outlook on life. Young people may want to imitate the desirable traits they see in role models. Role models can also have an effect on one's decision–making process. The choices a young person makes in life are directly associated with his or her Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Role Models Of A Good Role Model 1)A role model is "a person whose behavior, example, or success is or can be emulated by others, especially by younger people."("the definition of role model", 2016). A good role model has to demonstrate multiple qualities . They are people who other employees look to in times of crisis and for support as well. Role models have to lead by example and demonstrate abilities that reflect what the organization requires of the employees. The status of role models is much like the status of celebrities where each move they make, be it professional or in social context is judged, but unlike celebrities the role models actions also impact the reputation of their organization. A good role model 's qualities are many but I personally have nine that i want to discuss and believe are essential. These qualities are;" Optimism, Confidence, Hard work, Uniqueness, Communication, Respect, Knowledge, Well Rounded and Empathy." (Western, 2016) Firstly i believe if i were a role model i would want to be optimistic. I would like to explore new opportunities as well as explore new horizons and to challenge myself to achieve things others think impossible. This encourages employees at work and in life. Carrying oneself with confidence says a lot about a person. It makes you look sure of yourself when dealing with tasks knowing that you can and will complete it. This rubs off on employees as well. Success without hard work is impossible. I believe if you want others to work hard for you, you Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 4. My Role Models My parents were born during the Great Depression and by the time I was born they lived an upper middle class neighborhood in the 1960s. I was the last child of five in my family and separated by many years from my other siblings, so at times I felt like an only child. My mother while well meaning, I would come to discover later in my life that she suffered from bio polar disorder with anxiety. This made my formative years difficult and my sisters often acted as my parent, when my mom couldn't and became role models for me. My father did work a lot during my early years, however, he always made a priority when he was home. When I was ten years old, my mother decided that they would divorce. During this time period and in my neighborhood this was unheard of and many of my childhood friends were no longer allowed to associate with me. My sisters and brothers had moved out of the house by this time in their lives and I was left alone to face the divorce and I felt betrayed by them and no longer emulated them. My father moved out and I would spend weekends with him and we would do everything together, he would also talk to me on the phone every day and take time to help me with my math homework. During these years my mother often made poor decisions in relationships and jobs, but my dad was my place of comfort during these crazy times. He was my role model and the person I most admired for most of my life. "Most [respondents] describe their role model as someone they know Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Negative Role Models Essay The Negative Influences of Celebrities Public figures are famous for their actions and behaviors that are universal to the world. Just because they have money and fame does not mean they should be role models. The title of role model should be given to people who have a positive influence on the society. Children do not actually sit or see their role models everyday like their best friends. That is why they should have role models they can interface and have a real relationship with. Even though many celebrities do plenty of charity to communities, they can still have unacceptable behaviors in society. Many teenagers can be negatively influenced by their celebrity role models because actors and actresses often make poor decisions or have...show more content... Therefore, many teens are unaware that their celebrity role models are in fact causing them short term physical harm and are negatively impacting their long term mental health. Celebrities are not completely honest to the public in which they don't actually show their whole lives on TV and try to hide their negative behaviors from their public. However, celebrities often do not care if their fans are aware of their poor and careless decisions or the consequences they might have on their fans. For instance, "Many celebrities don't make a secret of alcohol or drug abuse and the glamorization of dying due to an overdose in the media might make your child feel that using these substances is acceptable," (Martinez). Watching celebrities take drugs and at the same time achieve what is viewed by many teens as "the perfect life " deceives teenagers that abusing substances are not completely harmful and that success can be reached while doing drugs. Celebrities showing their poor behaviors can make their young fans adopt them to become like them in every way. Moreover, "Nor do they always understand that the actors may have entirely different personalities when they are off–camera," (Hamlett). Many actors and actresses show false personalities in interviews which they try to win over their fans with. Get more content on HelpWriting.net

When people think about a role model, they envision famed people such as actors, athletes, singers and much more. In my opinion, a role model develops to be someone that has positively impacted lives, and it's not an individual that is full of selfishness and pride. In addition, she always distinguishes when is the right moment for jokes, games and the serious situations. With her, I can have meaningful conversations and also have the greatest time laughing and having a great time. In addition to her attitude, I also admire Eliza's love for God. I always enjoy being around people who influence me positively and encourage me to deepen my relationship with God. Eliza does just that. Eliza reminds me to be thankful to God and devote time to God each day. She personally does this in her own life and overflows with joy, hope, and faith. Additionally, Eliza is always available to give me endless advice or emphasize valuable lessons to me. However, while she discerns good and bad and does not hide her opinion, she is extremely gentle and never judgmental. • 8. Role Model Interview Research Paper For the role model interview project, I chose to interview one of my closest friends, Erin. I decided to interview her because in addition to looking up to her, I felt comfortable talking to her and I knew that she would answer these questions honestly and openly. The interview took place through video chat simply because we could not go over to each other's houses and I didn't think asking these private questions in a public place such as school would not be appropriate. We talked to each other after school so that we would have plenty of time to get through all the questions without having some sort of limit. While she was the person I chose as my role model, she had chosen her dad as her own role model. A role model is hardworking, empowering, and selfless. To begin with, a role model is hardworking. Erin's dad had to overcome many obstacles in his early life. "He was not from the richest family and had many financial issues. He also had to experience many of his close family members dying. "I've learned to be less selfish and to help others in need. During last Thanksgiving, he brought my sister and I to a local soup kitchen. For a few hours, we made and packaged food to give to the homeless" (Kinaci). This describes how Erin's dad is trying to get her into the habit of volunteering to do good deeds for people who are not as privileged as her. When you finally stop thinking about yourself and start to think about others, you are lending them a helping hand and pulling them from their dark struggles such as poverty to the light–filled side of opportunities such as a new beginning. As a role model, it is important to be selfless because you are giving hope to those who need it in order to keep going. • 9. My Role Model Essay When growing up, there is always someone there for you to look up too. From your guardians, or even your older siblings or classmates. You start learning from those you look at and want to be like them. These people change; as does your life when you age. I have many people who inspire me since you can't just have a sole person. The ones who inspire me truly are my own peers and friends. My view of role models has changed greatly from when I was younger. When I was little I wanted to be like my parents and like Batman and celebrities. Now I see people as their own inspirations. One of my role models I met at a convention. They fall, fail, and make mistakes, but they recognize those flaws and mistakes and take responsibility for them, as well as doing better the next time; showing how you can still be a good person and do great things even if you mess up. You just need to learn from those mistakes. The ones who are a large parts of my goals are my friends and peers. They isnpire me to do the things I love and achieve their feets as well. Even when they are faced with challenges they are determined enough to overcome them and admit to the flaws they wear like battle scars. They are the people I am growing up with and those who are already starting their next chapter. I see them and want to be like them. Strong and independent, but humble enough to know that they will need help. Even with them being the biggest inspiration, it is hard to choose a soul inspiration. I am inspired by my environment to be a better person; as well as by myself. I am inspired by all the people who try to do good and be their own kind of hero. That way, I can use all of them to be the best person I can be. When I grow up, these are the people I will have to take the place of, but that's not what it is about. Martin Luther King serves as a role model for many African Americans because of his contributions and fight towards civil rights. King became very popular and touched the lives of many. According to Robert A. On March 28, 1968, King led a march through Memphis, Tennessee, which, like all his marches, was intended to have been peaceful and non–violent. But thanks to a gang called "The Invaders," the march disintegrated into rioting and looting. King barely escaped the March 28 event unharmed, and swore to return to Memphis and "conduct this demonstration properly – with no violence." The date for the new march was set at April 4, 1968. This time, King would not survive his fateful trip to Memphis. Additionally, local newspapers criticized King when he announced he was coming back to Memphis for a second round. Among other comments, the local press criticized him for staying at a white–owned Holiday Inn, instead of the Motel Lorraine, which was black–owned. Hoping to avoid further antagonistic press in wake of the disastrous March 28 demonstration, King's camp switched his accommodations to a room at the Motel Lorraine, where he died on April 4. From a security standpoint, changing King's lodging to this particular motel was a bad mistake. The Motel Lorraine was located in a fairly seedy part of town. The day before King arrived, someone claiming to be an advance security man dropped by the Lorraine Hotel and changed King's reservation from a ground–floor room to a second–floor balcony room, saying, "Dr. King always likes to Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. Essay on The Importance of Good Role Models The Importance of Good Role Models Charles Barkley stands in a dimly lit gym with a basketball squeezed between his beefy hands. He is only filming a commercial. Or is he? As he looks squarely into the camera, he declares, " I am not a role model...I am paid to wreak havoc on the basketball court" (Smith 1). After he says this, a question begins to form in the minds of the viewers. Who, then Charles, should be a role model? Now, just because this is a commercial for a basketball shoe does not mean Charles Barkley does not have a reply floating around in that shiny bald head of his. He retorts, "Parents should be role models. Just because I dunk a basketball, doesn't mean I should raise your kids" (1). Whether many people care...show more content... That is why it is time for a change. That is why it is time for qualified people and people who want to be role models to be given a chance to be role models. Athletes such as Charles Barkley have recognized this need for a change. Dave Winfield, a former major– league baseball player with such teams as the New York Yankees and the former California Angels, recognizes this need for a change. He believes that athletes should not be the primary role models in a child's life. Instead parents, not athletes, entertainers or politicians, should claim the position of being a role model (Berlow 31). This statement not only speaks for itself, but it also poses an interesting question. If athletes themselves continue to declare themselves ineligible to be a role model, then why do people continually allow their children to admire these athletes for more than his/her sports abilities? At this point in time, the parents should know better. Parents would not allow their kids to admire some hoodlum on the street, but because sports are in a controlled atmosphere, they do not see the dangers in athletes being role models. As Charles Barkley puts it, "There are a million guys in jail who can play ball. Should they be role models? Of course not" (Berlow 35). Yet, many parents do not realize or do not want to admit that many athletes have a good amount of time on the "other" side of the law. The big message here is that being a Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. Lionel Messi as a Role Model Essay When people ask what my favorite sport is, I quickly reply soccer. I never really gave much thought to who my favorite soccer player is until I saw Lionel Messi for the first time. I saw him play for Argentina and he showed me how great soccer really is. He has a great style of both teamwork and individual skill. The ability he has to keep control of the ball is what made me interested in soccer. Without him, who knows if I would even begin to enjoy soccer. He shows both individual skill and the importance of teamwork. He does not only score a ton of goals, but also gives many assists. Lionel Messi, in my opinion, is one of the greatest soccer players in history. Lionel Messi is most definitely one of my role models. Messi doesn't...show more content... There came a time in his career where Messi could have easily shot the ball into the net himself, but instead, he passed the ball to a player who had never scored before. The player did indeed score and Messi celebrated along with the other player. This demonstrated to me that it does not necessarily take individual skill to win, but more teamwork. This showed me that it is better to loose as a team than to win as an individual. Messi is one of the greatest soccer players to ever live, in my opinion, but that does not automatically mean that his team is only good because of him, but rather more that he is great because of his team. No matter where Lionel Messi is, on the field or off, he always has a good attitude and shows sportsmanlike conduct towards the apposing team. Lionel Messi is a role model to people all across the world. This very man is the type of man that you would find congratulating the other team if they won rather than getting extremely mad or getting extremely upset. This is not the type of person that you would find bragging about himself, but more or less the kind of person you would find staying silent about his great performance. Lionel Messi is the very man who got me interested in soccer. To this day, soccer is absolutely my favorite sport. No such memory comes to mind of when I knew nothing of Lionel Messi. • 13. Essay about Why Athletes are Good Role Models Why Athletes are Good Role Models Ever since the ancient years, we have admired athletes and the hard work that they do to achieve their goal of winning. We idolize them and wish we were more like them. What happens though when the realization sinks in that they are human too and that some of them do get greedy and selfish? A lot of athletes are model citizens that you should really look up to, but there are also some bad apples in the bunch that ruin it for everyone. Athletes can inspire young people to work hard so that their efforts can pay off, but no one is pure and flawless. Michael Jordan has started a foundation that donates money for research to help physically challenged children. He has been running up the tabs at Atlantic City casinos, but who hasn't gambled? We are not perfect. Michael may gamble, but he does his share of helping and works hard for what he has acquired. Gambling is no crime, so then he is not showing us a negative thing. If parents disapprove of him gambling, then they should outlaw it because he is not doing anything wrong. Michael, and other athletes as well, is aware that he is constantly being watched by millions and tries to act accordingly. There has been a major controversy in the NBA lately thanks to Charles Barkley and his claim in an interview that he is not a role model, but that is the job of the parent. He says that parents shouldn't be blaming the athletes if they can't control their own children. Another person that agrees with this notion is football and basketball star Deion Sanders. Role models are those who have affected us in ways that influence us to be better people. They are people who others imitate, emulate or look to for guidance. How would I ensure that my work goals and plans reflect the organisation's goals and plans? To ensure that my work goals and plans reflect the organisation's goals and plans, first I would identify what the organisation's goals and plans are. The identification can be done by examining the organisation's strategic and operational plans. Strategic plans sent out an organisation's goals or what it hopes to achieve over a specified period of time, usually three or five years. Operational plans also focus on an organisation's goals. Unlike strategic plans, they focus on a shorter period of time, often just one year and they tend to be more detailed and outline exactly what each work unit needs to achieve in any given year. Besides examining the organisation's strategic and operational plans which can be time consuming, another way to find out about the vision and strategic direction of the organisation is to consult a manager or a supervisor. In particular, ask them to explain what the goals for the organisation are with facts and figures. Tell the manager or supervisor what tasks I can be doing that will help the team. How would I ensure that I meet my job responsibilities? To ensure that I meet my job responsibilities, I would undertake formal performance evaluations which provide opportunities for me to assess my work in collaboration with the managers or supervisors who are conducting the evaluations. Kids see celebrities in the news every day and mimic what they do, thinking that they should be like them. But that is wrong. Most celebrities don't know what they are doing in their life because they have a hard time telling reality from fantasy. Nasra Bishumba interviewed singer Miley Cyrus and this is what Miley had to say, "My job isn't to tell your kids how to act or how not to act because I'm still figuring that out for myself. To take that away from me is a bit selfish." I agree with her because most of the celebrities our kids look up to are still kids their self, growing up and learning from their own mistakes. So how are we going to let our kids look up to other kids? Then of course there are others who see celebrities as good role models like Kristine Tucker. She stated, ''Celebrities who complete college coursework, have an interest in politics, write books, study literature, travel abroad or engage in debates showcase their intellectual skills.'' Majority of the stars today's youth look up to didn't even finish school. They have their mangers write out statements to say in an interview to sound well educated or have others talk for them. Essay about My Mom is the Perfect Role Model "Children have never been very good at listening to their elders, but they have never failed to imitate them." –––― James Baldwin To write about my role models, I could have picked teachers, I could have picked people extremely influential in their field, and I could have picked models and other aesthetically pleasing individuals. But instead, I found the perfect combination of all three: my mother. There isn't one person on this earth more educational, more competent, and more aesthetically pleasing than my mother. But she also knew that I was a good player and key figure in the musical world both in my school, state and country, having performed in Europe. Flute is one of the most difficult instruments to be proficient in and master. However, she held me high and let me do what I knew I loved instead of encouraging me to go into a more "stable" field. Some may say it's easy to choose your mother for a role model, that it's a no–brainer. Not so. Not only does my mother have a professional attitude worth emulating, she has the attitude of a child, too. None of my other friends' mom's are willing to stick their tongue at you while telling you "I told you so!", in jest of course. I've seen my mother play first string violin at a packed concert house and I've seen her dance and be–bop around the house, mocking my sister and me. • 20. The Teacher As Role Models As an educator you get faced with the task everyday whether or not it is your responsibility to teach moral values and to develop good character traits in students in your classroom. What people do not realize is that teaching is much more than just the information in the textbooks and for that reason, I do believe that it is the educator's job to teach moral values and to develop good character traits in students. As an educator, you have to be able to teach the whole student, you have to be willing to teach them life lessons, and not just educate the student based on the standards of the textbooks. It was expected that when children went to public schools that they were to be taught moral values. As stated by Angela Lumpkin in her article entitled, "Teachers as Role Models, Teaching Character and Moral Virtues," found on the CSU Chino database, she states, "When public schools were established in the United States in the 18th and 19th centuries, one of their stated missions was to teach moral virtues (Lumpkin 45)." I found this very interesting because since public school came about, no one had a problem, in fact they were expecting, teachers to teach moral virtues in the classroom. Nowadays, as an educator, you have to be very careful about what you teach in the classroom because you don't want to offend anyone, but that does not mean you should only be teaching children the standards out of the textbook. Continuing on with Lumpkin's article she says, "Teachers back then Get more content on HelpWriting.net
