Hina ultrafiltration membrane module operates in four states: normal filtration,
backwash, , chemical cleaning, and integrity testing.

In the state of the normal filtration, filtration can be full amount of filtering, and

With the membrane module working time extension, membrane fouling will
continue to increase. As the membrane permeable rate will decline, to restore
the membrane flux, regular chemical cleaning of membrane module. Chemical
cleaning should select the appropriate chemical according to impurities in raw
water quality. Usually first with pickling, and then caustic wash: the pickling
solution is generally in 2% citric acid (pH = 2), the alkali eluent is 0.5% NaOH /
200ppmNaClO (pH = 12).
When to chemical cleaning system is determined by the operational conditions
of the system. When the system transmembrane pressure reaches
0.8-0.12MPa, the system should be chemical cleaning. Adjust frequency of
positive flow and backwashing and its running time.

The hollow fiber of membrane module ruptures occasionally (broken filaments)
in the process of operation of the system, thus destroying the integrity of the
membrane module. The impurity in raw water will enter into the produced
water through the broken places; so it is crucial to find broken wire timely and
isolate it to keep the system integrity, especially when the system is used for
drinking water treatment. To inspect single membrane module integrity,the
pressure bubble test can be used to identify the integrity of the hollow fiber.
Epoxy glue blocked at both ends of the broken fiber is available to make the
system permanent isolation when found to have broken fiber. Repaired
membrane module must carry on flushing, as far as possible will enter the
clean water production impurities; avoid to cause for other membrane pollution.
Repaired membrane module should be flushed, try to clean up impurities into
the water production end to avoid contamination of other membrane.
