OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT
• Tapping the available water during rainy season

• Drinking water security for the resource poor family
 and their livestock.
• Improved irrigation and water use efficiency for
 second crop production
• Food security and generation of sustainable income
 for participant families
• Drudgery reduction of the women
Project Initiation
Collected   primary   information's   along   with
 secondary data from Block Development Officer
 (Panchayat Samity)
Three Panchayat were identified for PRA from 48
 panchayat of Block Barmer and only one
 panchayat were selected for evolation of Need base
 programme
Finally Punaron ki Bastti villages were selected
 under Undkha Panchayat as Project Area
Criteria of village selection
Maximum no of BPL House hold and Sc & ST population.
Low literacy level of both male and female
Lack of Drinking water, education,health and transportation.
Socially, Economically Backward
Under 25 KM from Center/ district headquarter.
Minimum accessibility government developmental schemes.
Minimum involvement of other NGOs
More need of people due to extreme poverty.

•   Temperature: summer 47o and 5 o c in winter
•   Rainfall: Average annual rainfall of ten years 277mm.
•   Water: Water is very scanty and Salty
•   Soil: sandy with negligible organic matter
•   Vegetation : Spiny shrubs and hard grass.
•   Major crops: Bajra, guar, moth, mung(only Kharif)
•   Main tree : Khejari, Kumath, Rohida, Neem, Ber, Babul,
    Shrubs: Calotropis procera, Caparis decidua,Arani,
    Calligonam poligonodes, Murali, Burda, Loka, Pala Boradi
•    Livestock:,sheep & goat Population is dominated over
    camel , donkey Cattle & buffalos Population
•   Livelihood condition and human capital : Meghwal,
    Rewari, Rajpurohit, Rajput, Bheel, Jat, Nai, and Suthar
•   Economic activity : Livestock, Labour work, handicraft

• Vegetable: Creepers- Ridge Guard, Whit
  Guard, Cucumber, Watermelon, Onion, garlic,
  Okra, Brinjal, Palak etc
• Horticulture( Orchard of 60 plants at 302m):
  – Ber- Gola, Seb From CAZRI
  – Lashota- CAZARI- Selected
  – Pomogranut- Ganesh From CAZARI

• 110 farmers established wadi of 9676 plants
• Around 33 hectare unproductive land converted to
  protected orchards
• 70 poor family were harvested around 14 Lace
  liters of water that save Rs. 2.4 laces
• 12 open well benefiting 28 family with unlimited
  water & around 20 hectare Dry land changed to
  irrigated land
• 9 Family created there own storage structures
• Around 10 hectare land of 110 farmers is using to
  vegetable cultivation as a result of taped rain water
• Around 63 hector desert land is converted to
  irrigated land

  • 34. • 110 farmers established wadi of 9676 plants • Around 33 hectare unproductive land converted to protected orchards • 70 poor family were harvested around 14 Lace liters of water that save Rs. 2.4 laces • 12 open well benefiting 28 family with unlimited water & around 20 hectare Dry land changed to irrigated land • 9 Family created there own storage structures • Around 10 hectare land of 110 farmers is using to vegetable cultivation as a result of taped rain water • Around 63 hector desert land is converted to irrigated land
