Unit 10 : Volume of liquid
Learning objective : Measure and compare volumes of liquid using standard unit
Learning outcome : Pupils will be able to measure and compare volumes of liquid using standard
unit.
Vocabulary : Measure, volume, liquid, standard unit, litre
Resources : Textbook, activity book, measuring cylinders, and variety of containers.
Focus: Record volumes of liquid in litres.
Introductory Activities.
Pupils paste newspaper or magazine cuttings showing the advertisement of containers such as
paint, cooking oil, milk and …….etc that have labels of volumes printed on them
Class lesson.
1. Teacher demonstrate and explains:
i) That a milk carton holds 1 litre of milk.
ii) That a jug may hold the same amount of water as the milk cartoon.
2. Pupils investigate the volumes of two different containers (different sizes) by filling the
containers with water using a measuring cylinder.
2. 3. Pupils experiment with a variety of containers to measure volumes of liquid. They need
to record their measurement in a table,.Pupils work in 9 groups. Teacher monitors pupils
in measuring volumes of liquid using measuring cylinders to make sure that they take the
readings of meniscus of liquid at the eye level.
4. Pupils present volumes of liquid of the containers and discussion session.
5. Closure.

merekajugamampumenyukatisipaducecairdengancara yang betul. Penggunaan air yang
pelbagaiwarnapadasetiapstesenbekas yang disukatmenambahminatmurid.
Kelemahan
Satukelemahan yang dapatsayalihatsepanjang proses
pengajarandanpembelajaranberlakuialah, bekas yang
digunakanuntukmenyukatisipaducecairtidakmengikutbilangankumpulanbagisetiapjenisbe
kastersebut. Inikeranaterdapat 9 kumpulankesemuanya yang terdiridaripada 4 orang
satukumpulan.Sayamengarahkanmerekamembentuk 4 orang
dalamsatukumpulansupayasemuamuridberpeluanguntukmenyukatisipaducecairuntukbeka
s yang seterusnya.Olehsebabituuntukmenyediakan 9
bekasbagisetiapjenisbekasagaksukar.Sebabitusayamenggunakanteknikstesen,
iaitumuridberpindahdarisatustesenkestesen yang lain.
Inimenyebabkanmasabanyakdigunakanuntukbergerakdanmenunggukumpulanlain yang
masihmembuatsukatan.
