the
dog.
“ Then
I
will,”
said

hen
and
she
reaped
the
wheat.

help

thresh

wheat?”

cat

the
dog

take

was
there
Rat
showed
up
and
asked,
“When
you
bake
the
bread,
may
I
have
a
piece?”
The

red
hen
agreed
if
he
would
help
her
at
the
mill,
so
Rat
helped
her.
When
she
got
home
she

“Who
will
bake
this
flour?”
“ Too
much
work,”
moaned
the
cat.
“It’s
too
early,”
barked
the
dog.
“ Then
I
will,”
said
the

red
hen
and
she
baked
the
flour.
“Who
will
help
me
eat
this
bread,”

“Me,”
exclaimed
the
cat!
“I
will,”
exclaimed
the
dog!

Rat
and
I
will,”
said
the
li+le
red
hen.
So
she
and
Rat
feasted
on
the
bread.
