power, even as high

The Sultan was the
supreme leader and
believed to be appointed by

The Wealthy class formed
the Aristocracy

consist of both Muslims and

people not respected at all
5. MILITARY
One of the strongest
and most feared
militaries of the time
Extremely advanced
weapons
People of other
religion who converted

Ottoman soldiers were
motivated by the fact
that this was a Jihad or
Holy War

Ottoman empire

of civil dispute
It also gave the sultans
absolute power over the
people
Islam gave many
ethnicities a
commonality

Under Suleiman the
Magnificent the Ottomans
reached their zenith
After Suleiman, Sot the
Drunk came to power
With him came an internal
decline in the aristocracy
Internal problems along
with WWI caused the
Ottoman empire to
disappear
