Any independent living thing
It can be as small as
bacteria
Or as large as a
whale

3. 3 categories of the food
chain….

2.Consumers
3.Decomposers
They are all dependent on each
other.

4. Producers
Get their food and energy from the sun (PLANTS)
They make their food through a process called
Photosynthesis

5. Consumers
Consumers need to eat their food to get
energy. [ANIMALS]

6. There are 4 types of
Consumers:
• Carnivores
• Herbivores
• Omnivores
• Scavengers

7. Carnivores
Only eat meat (other animals)

8. Herbivores
Only eat plants

9. Omnivores
Eat meat (animals) and plants

10. Scavengers
Feed on things that are already dead

11. Turn to the person next to you and give two examples of each
of the following:
Carnivore
Herbivore
Omnivore
Scavenger

12. Decomposers
Eat dead things and turn them
back into dirt or soil
