The 2013 Holy Spirit-Filled & Powerful Witnesses of Christ: Christian
Authors on Tour (CAOT) is a virtual book tour with opportunities for Christian book
lovers to interact with Christian fiction and non-fictions authors via scheduled Tour
stops across the United States and LIVE author interviews on the Christian Authors on
Tour (CAOT) Blog Talk Radio Show (www.blogtalkradio.com/christianauthorsontour).
In 2013, CAOT will make three scheduled Tour stops in Harlem, NY at the 15th
Anniversary of the Harlem Book Fair (July 20); Timonium, MD at the 4th
Annual African American Author’s Expo (August 17); and in Baltimore, MD at
the 2013 Christian Writer’s Literary Festival (December 14). Additionally,
Christian authors and readers will have opportunities to support a U.S.-based missions
project at each of the three scheduled Tour stops.
The 2013 Holy Spirit-Filled & Powerful Witnesses of Christ: Christian
Authors on Tour (CAOT) includes dozens of Christian fiction and non-fiction
authors from across the United States who are on FIRE for God and committed to using
writing as a tool for Christian ministry. This booklet spotlights participating authors
who are scheduled to showcase their book ministries at Christian Authors on Tour’s
booth (C-4) at the Harlem Book Fair on July 20, 2013 from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Additionally, it provides background information regarding the corresponding missions
project that the authors are coordinating on that day in support of homeless men at the
New York City Rescue Mission.

The Harlem Book Fair is the brainchild of Max Rodriquez.
2013 marks the 15th anniversary of the Harlem Book Fair.
This year's festivities take place July 19-20th in Harlem, NY.

Saturday, July 20th from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. at booth C-4.

Lynn Calvin – Baltimore, MD
Lynn Calvin loves the Lord and loves to teach children about the Lord. That is evident in her first
children’s book, I Have Two Daddies: An Earthly Daddy and a Heavenly Daddy. This wonderful
story explains the love a little girl experiences through the relationships with her earthly and
heavenly Daddies.
Calvin is the proud mom of three grown daughters - Monique, Khristina and D’Anita - and four
granddaughters -Taylor, Cierra, Shawntae and Shawna. Calvin attended Coppin State University,
formerly Coppin State College, where she earned a BS degree in Biology. Calvin currently works as a
Research Coordinator at Johns Hopkins University located in Baltimore, MD.
An active member of Providence Baptist Church, Calvin serves as the coordinator of the Visionettes
Liturgical Dance Ministry for children and youth between the ages of 3-18 and the Ministry of
Dance for adults between the ages of 19-50. She is also a member of various dance ministries
including Restoration Dance Ministry, a community-based liturgical dance ministry and partner
with the International Liturgical Dance. In addition, Calvin is a Girl Scout Leader and a member
of Bible Study for Today‛s Living Sunday School class.

Steven Haymon, Ed.D. has over 40 years of clinical experience as a psychotherapist/
consultant. Dr. Haymon has treated thousands of clients for issues including childhood
disorders, marital and couple counseling, family counseling, parent/child conflicts, veterans-
-PTSD, and chemical dependency. With an extensive background in mood disorders,
schizophrenia, and anxiety disorders, Dr. Haymon shares his wealth of knowledge by
conducting training, workshops and seminars in his various fields of study and research.
His two books, Stress: Climbing Out of the Pit with God and Stress: Overcoming Real-Life
Issues with God, uses sound Biblical teachings to examine the impacts of stress and to
provide direction on living a healthy life.
Dr. Haymon earned a BA in Education, MSW in Social Work and an Ed.D in Educational
Psychology. Dr. Haymon is a member of Bethesda Temple Church of the Apostolic Faith in
St. Louis, MO where the Honorable Bishop James A. Johnson, D.D. is pastor. He has also
pursued and completed Christian educational course-work at Bethesda Temple Bible
Institute under the tutelage of Dr. Rachel Webb.

Leslie K. Howard – Newark, NJ
Son
Leslie K. Howard a.k.a. Newark's own "First Lady of S.A.S.S.” is an author, speaker,
playwright, Life Coach, wife, mother, and grandmother. Born and raised in Newark, NJ,
Howard grew up in a home plagued with alcoholism and domestic violence. As child, she was
beset with feelings of abandonment, loneliness and fear. This combined with neglect and
sexual abuse resulted in her struggle with low self-esteem. Those experiences prompted
Howard to seek spiritual renewal and helped prepare her for the mission God has destined for
her.
The author of two books - Love Letters from God: Psalm 23 and Sisters with S.A.S.S. –
Howard’s mission in life is equip, empower, and encourage those who have been broken,
burdened and bruised by the circumstances of life. She uses both her training and life
experiences when speaking at community events, churches, conferences, and while mentoring
young girls in her group, Daughters of Imani.

Minister Sonya Privette- James, the author of five books, has accepted the call of ministry on her
life. Educated in the Philadelphia School System, Minister James is a licensed minister, a
graduate of Anointed for Destiny Prophetic School and several other Christian institutions. She
has served in various ministries such as an Armor Bearer, Head of the intercessory team, Director
of the Outreach Ministry, Administrator, and Usher. She has served in the Share Food Program.
Minister James’ latest release - My Father, My Love, My Lord - is a book of poetic workshop,
praise, adoration, inspiration and illumination of God's presence in everyday life. Recently, she
was asked to develop a new member’s book for the congregation of St. Joseph Baptist Church in
Philadelphia, PA.
Married to Minister Brain James, Minister James is the proud mother of five beautiful children.
Her favorite scripture is Philippians 4:13. She is a living testimony of doing all things in
Christ’s strength

Hattye C. Knight – Baltimore, MD
Hattye C. Knight is a Professional of Human Resources (PHR) certified by the Society for
Human Resource Management with over fifteen years of Human Resources experience. In
2009, Ms. Knight moved into the federal sector and is now serving as a Labor Employee
Relations Specialist with one of the largest agencies in the federal government.
In 2010, Knight received an email from a friend about a writers workshop sponsored by Millie
McGhee, author, of Drifted Back in Time. Ms. McGhee was establishing a Maryland chapter of
her New Writers in Action group. Knight answered the call and was one of four MD-based
authors offered publishing contracts. Her first book, Against Company Policy, is a Christian
fiction murder mystery. She enjoys spinning entertaining stories for her family and friends
based on ordinary topics.
Knight lives in Maryland with her daughters - Dominique and Keana. She is also the proud
grandmother of Janiyah.

Sandra McCoy is the author of two books, In Your Twilight and I Am Thankful. Sandra is not
only a loving mother and grandmother, but she is also a faithful prayer warrior, intercessor,
spoken word poet, author, playwright, poet, speaker, teacher, and minister. A former staff writer
for the Florida Times Union, and The Jacksonville Journal newspapers, this powerful woman of
God gives God all the glory in all things.
McCoy earned a MA in Christian Counseling from Sacramento Theological Bible College and a
BA in Mass Communication from Edward Waters College. She has many other writing
accomplishments including authoring Ebony Shadows and publishing the PUREGOLD Christian
Magazine.

Pamala Mintz – Baltimore, MD
Becoming a teenage mother did not stop Pamala Mintz from achieving her dreams. A single
mother of three children - Tiara, Brandon, and Joshua – Mintz graduated from Coppin State
University in 2008 with a BA in English/Communications and graduated from University of
Baltimore with a MS in Health Systems Management in 2013 just one year after the release of
her Saved, Single Sister: Real Talk book series.
Foundationally, Mintz was raised in the Baptist faith at Community Baptist Church of Cherry
Hill under the leadership of Rev. Calvin Thomas. As an adult, Mintz joined First Apostolic
Faith Church where she served under the leadership of Apostle Franklin Cornelius Showell; it
was under his leadership that Mintz learned the unadulterated skill of spiritual warfare. She
currently serves under the leadership of Dr. Todd Hall. It is through his prophetic mantle that
Mintz was able to tap into who she truly is as a woman of God - gifted to write stories that help
people explore complicated life topics with a Christian lens.

Lynn Pinder is an author, consultant, educator and entrepreneur. With more than fifteen
years of experience working in the nonprofit sector, Pinder has worked in various capacities.
From intern to Executive Director, she has demonstrated throughout her professional career
the ability to help others think outside the box and create solutions that positively impact
communities.
Although Pinder has had an amazing personal and professional faith walk, she hasn’t always
made wise choices. And at one point in her life, she was spiraling down a road of self-
destruction. But God and His unchanging love healed her insecurities, covered her
indiscretions and made her whole. In 2008, Pinder launched Christian Authors on Tour
(CAOT); it is definitely a labor of love and a wonderful work in progress. She is honored to
work with so many anointed authors - on fire for God and committed to using writing as a
tool for Christian ministry.

T.C. Spellen – Brooklyn, NY
T. C. Spellen is an independent author who serves in leadership at her local church. Her first
book, The Waiting Room: A 31-Day Devotional for Single Women Waiting for the Right
Husband, was released earlier this year. The book is a guide for single women – helping them
to build a closer relationship with God and to live purposefully by exercising spiritual and
practical disciplines during their waiting season.
Spellen, the Founder of TCS, has led cell groups and workshops on prayer and spirituality.
She is passionate about empowering single women to live a purpose-filled life. Spellen
encourages and practices spiritual, as well as, practical disciplines such as journaling, praying,
fasting, and resting. She also believes in creating personal time and development as a means
of helping to de-clutter one's life. Her goal is to draw single women closer to God and
strengthen their spiritual muscles and senses.

Dr. Mary Washam - Apostle and Founder of Hope Christian Tabernacle Church in PA; New
Beginnings Deliverance Tabernacle Church in CT; and Hope Christian Tabernacle in NJ - is
the author of two books, A Believer But ... Do Believers Really Believe? and Does God
Really Talk? Through her books, Dr. Washam has a strong desire to teach and preach from
a psychological, theological platform - invoking readers to seek wisdom and knowledge
evidenced by a lifestyle of character, leadership, stewardship and worship.
Dr. Washam is sought after by Bishops, Pastors and leaders to assist with Christian
Education. She facilitates seminars, conferences, workshops and retreats and conducts
numerous revivals throughout the country. Dr. Washam serves on various boards and
advisory councils including the Police Clergy, the United Way - Love for Children, and the
Non-Violence Committee.
Dr. Washam earned her MA and Ph.D. in Religious Education from the United Bible College
and Seminary in Orlando, FL. She obtained her BA from Jameson Christian College and a
degree in Business Administration from the University of Pennsylvania.

Accolades & Thanks
I thank God for the opportunity to lead Christian Authors on Tour (CAOT) for yet
another year. It is truly an honor and privilege to serve all of the authors who are part of
the Christian Authors on Tour (CAOT) family. I am especially thankful for all of the
participating authors and pray that God continues to bless the work of their hands.
I thank God for Max Rodriquez, the Founder of the Harlem Book Fair. I thank him for
15 years of excellence. I can remember when CAOT first participated in the Harlem
Book Fair in 2010 and then again in 2012. I feel especially grateful to be part of the 15th
anniversary celebration of the Harlem Book Fair.
This year, I am especially thankful for an aspiring author who has committed to serve
for one year as the 2013 CAOT Coordinator. Ms. Charlene Brown has been a great
source of help and inspiration to me and participating authors in CAOT.
I am thankful also for other CAOT volunteers like Melody Smith-Taylor and Donna
Jennifer Ross who volunteer their time to support participating authors at CAOT’s
scheduled special events and Tour stops. And I can’t forget to thank one of my sisters,
Sherri Wallace, who served as the first official volunteer to CAOT during our inaugural
year in 2008.
I also would like to thank the businesses and ministries that have sowed into CAOT over
