25. In an effort to make our school safer, the Van Buren
School District has added an electronic entry system to
the front entrance of Northridge Middle School.
Beginning tomorrow, Tuesday, October 29th, the front
entrance at Northridge Middle School will be locked at
8:15 a.m. and all students and visitors will be required
to “buzz-in” using the intercom system located on the
wall next to the left set of entrance doors.
This system has been put in place to help ensure the
safety of our students. I appreciate all your effort in
helping make Northridge Middle School safer.

We are proud to announce that our Northridge Band placed 12 students in
our All Region Band and 2 alternates! Each student auditioned against
many other players from our region which included Grades 7, 8 and 9. For
example, there were 130 trumpets that auditioned and only 30 selected. As
always, the Northridge students were great representatives of our school. We
are proud of every student who auditioned. It takes a lot of courage just to
try out! Please extend congratulations to the following 7th and 8th graders:

The NMS Recycle and Nature Club would like to collect items in need and have them
distributed to a local shelter; giving what we can this season. Please take a moment to go
over what items your child can bring. Keep in mind that every little bit counts - big or
small. We ask that students either bring a 1/2 or gallon size baggy of the following:
