3. Bubble Wrap Dinosaurs Grandview Elementary School 2nd Grade General Goals: Students will use recycled objects to create a textured illustration of a dinosaur in its natural habitat. Grade2 :Dinosaurs
4. After researching and choosing a dinosaur, students sketched a dinosaur of their choice. Then, students cut out the drawings and traced the image onto recycled bubble wrap. Grade2 :Dinosaurs
5. Students used paint to add color and design to their dinosaurs. Students also ripped paper to depict a natural habitat. Grade2 :Dinosaurs
7. Patriotic Prints Grandview Elementary School 3rd Grade General Goals: Students will create block prints of historical United States buildings or monuments Grade 3: Prints
8. Introduction: history Using a PowerPoint, students identified a number of U.S. monuments and their importance. Grade 3: Prints
9. Introduction: Basic shapes Using Smart Board technology, the entire class broke these monuments and buildings into basic shapes. Grade 3: Prints
10. Preliminary sketches Students used basic shapes to create sketches of an important US building or monument of their choice. Grade 3: Prints
11. Students copied their sketches to foam board to create block prints. Grade 3: Prints
13. Derry Trains Grandview Elementary School 5rd Grade General Goals: Students will create and critique prints that represent the history of their community. Grade 5: Ink Prints
17. The Lesson Ended with a Critique Game This game gave students an opportunity to give and receive constructive criticism.
18. Still Life Drawing Indiana Junior High School 7th Grade General Goals: Students will become knowledgeable of the techniques used to draw an image realistically. Grade 7: Still Life
19. Contour and gesture First, students practiced drawing using contour and gestural lines. They chose their best work to reproduce on a larger scale. Grade 7: Still Life
20. Before Critique Students were taught how to use tones and shading. After Critique Students critiqued each other in order to make one final drawing. Grade 7: Still Life
25. Ceramic Vessel Indiana Junior High School 7th Grade General Goals: Students will become knowledgeable of the techniques used to create a coil vessel that demonstrates shape, form, balance, pattern and repetition. Grade 7: Ceramics

58. While pre-teaching in Philadelphia, I was privileged to volunteer with the Urban Garden Organization. We converted litter filled vacant lots into beautiful and useful community gardens.
