GOLFERS OF THE WEEK
MEN’S
Derek Oland, Midwestern State University, SR, McKinney, Texas, Boyd HS
Oland finished strong with a final round 68 to take second at The Territory Classic Tuesday in Duncan. The senior
from McKinney notched back-to-back par-or-better rounds with a 72 and 68 to close a stroke behind St. Mary’s
Alex Bissaro with a 4-under total of 140. Oland delivered his 36th and 37th career par-or-better round while
posting his school record 17th round in the 60s.
WOMEN’S
Beatriz Prados, Tarleton State University, SO, Madrid, Spain, Ortega y Gasset School
Prados led the way for the TexAnns this weekend in Dallas. The sophomore from Madrid, Spain concluded the
first day tied for fourth place with a one-over-par 73, four strokes behind leader Sydney Williams (-3). Prados’
first round included three of five total birdies for the tournament, putting Tarleton in second place after day
one action. Prados would shoot 73 in the second round matching her day one total, giving her a No. 3 finish in
the overall individual standings with a tournament total score of 146 while helping Tarleton finish in a tie for
fifth place at 617 for the tournament.
OTHER TOP PERFORMERS
Ethan Peterson, West Texas A&M University, paced the Buffs with a pair of 71s for a 2-under 141 score at
the Territory Classic this week in Duncan, Okla. He finished third, while helping the Buffs also finish third in the
tournament. It was his first top five finish of the season.
Ashley Bartholomew, Angelo State University, finished strong with a 75 (3-over-par) at the DBU Classic this
week at the Golf Club of Dallas in the Rambelles’ fourth fall tournament. Bartholomew carded an 80-75 - 155
which put her in 26th place at the event. ASU’s only senior, she is averaging 77.5 strokes per round this season
and has led the team in three of four tournaments. Her final round 75 matches a season-best which she also
shot at the RMAC No. 2 earlier this season.
Glory Jangthongsiri, West Texas A&M University, finished tied for 13th at the DBU Women’s Classic hosted
by Dallas Baptist University this week. Jangthongsiri carded rounds of 75 and 76 for a 151 score as she paced
the Lady Buffs to a 10th-place finish.
Jaqueline Strickland, Cameron University, led Cameron with a 149 at the Dallas Baptist Classic. After shooting
a 76 in round one, she came back with a 73 in round two to give her a sixth place finish individually. Strickland’s
low score helped the Aggies maintain an eight place finish and hold off the teams in ninth and tenth place.

Angelo State
The Rambelles finished 12th of 17 teams at this week’s DBU Classic at the Golf Club of Dallas. ASU shot 319-
315 - 634 with senior Ashley Bartholomew leading the team with a 36-hole total of 155. Freshman Leah Meza
carded a 78-78 - 156, while Rashae Skillern and shot 84-79 - 163. ASU finishes off its fall schedule with a duel
event on Friday, Oct. 24 against Lubbock Christian at the Abilene Country Club.
Cameron
Weather forced the Territory Classic to a one day 36-hole tournament, and Dylan McClure led the Cameron
men to a fourth place finish in their home event with a pair of 73s and a eighth place individual finish. Overall,
the Aggies came out in the morning and shot a 300 and then followed that up with a second round 296 to give
them a 596 for the one day tournament. Corey Bounds shot a 150 and Zander Winston shot a 151 to finish in
17th and 18th places, while Cullen Stahl shot a 153 and K.C. Colvin carded a 158. Also competing, Cameron’s
B team finished in eighth place with a two round score of 614. Next week CU will head to Wichita Falls, for the
Midwestern State Invitational.
On the women’s side, the Aggies finished in eighth at the Dallas Baptist Classic, shooting a 621 overall score
after carding a 312 in round one and then improving three strokes in round two and shooting a 309. Jaqueline
Strickland led Cameron with a sixth place finish, carding a 149 after shooting a 73 on day two. Alexis Thompson
shot a 75 in round two which led to her finishing in 24th place individually with a 154. Rounding out the team
was Erin Hess with a 158, Katie Johnston with a 160, and Robyn Moore with a 174. Competing as individuals
from CU were Candice Swartz, who shot a 164, and Bailey Brown with a 183. The Cameron women will host the
Oklahoma Intercollegiate, Oct. 20-21 at the Ft. Sill Golf Course.
Midwestern State
The Midwestern State men claimed a team win at The Territory Classic carding a 4-over 580 to edge St. Mary’s
(Texas) by three strokes... Senior Derek Oland finished as runner-up firing consecutive par-or-better rounds of
72 and 68 for a 4-under total of 140... It was Oland’s 17th career round in the 60s -- a school record... Oland
currently ranks 25th overall in the GolfStat Division II rankings with average score of 71.6... Sophomore Thomas
Smith carded rounds of 73 and 72 for a two-round total of 145 (+1) to claim his first Top 10 finish for the
Mustangs... Sophomore Jared Baker fired a career-best 69 (-3) in the opening round at The Territory Classic to
finished tied for eighth with a two-round total of 146 (+2)... MSU plays host to the Midwestern State Invitational
next week at the Wichita Falls Country Club... The Midwestern State women showed consistency with matching

Tarleton State battled windy conditions en route to a fifth-place finish at the Dallas Baptist Women’s Classic
earlier this week. The TexAnns were led by sophomore Beatriz Prados who led the team both days with a 73,
73 and finished third place in the overall individual rankings.

Both the WT men’s and women’s golf teams were in action this week...The men’s squad finished third of nine
teams at the Territory Classic in Duncan, Okla., hosted by Cameron University...The Buffs fired a 36-hole score
of 585 on rounds of 288 and 295...No Buff shot in the 80s for the tournament as junior Ethan Peterson led the
way with a pair of 71s for a 2-under 142 score finishing third...The Buffs are ranked 52nd in the first Golfstat
rankings of the season...The Lady Buffs finished 10th at the DBU Women’s Classic this week as junior Glory
Jangthongsiri led the way finishing tied for 13th with a 151 score on rounds of 75 and 76...As a team, the Lady
Buffs carded rounds of 315 and 312 for a 627 score...They beat Angelo State and Texas A&M-Commerce, while
falling to Midwestern State, Tarleton State and Cameron in the first meeting of the LSC teams this season...The
Lady Buffs are 30th in the first Golfstat women’s rankings.
