The E-Rate program provides funding to help schools obtain affordable internet access and telecommunications. NEISD receives a 60% discount on these services through E-Rate because over 39% of its students are economically disadvantaged. NEISD's technology plan aims to improve education through goals like increasing teacher skills and instructional levels. The plan costs over $67 million to implement, but E-Rate assists NEISD in making modern technology affordable.
