culture change” as you move into the future.
The thinking skills of innovation, creativity, and continuous growth has been the work and
practice of The Pacific Institute for 40 years. It is our privilege to be of service.

2. PERFORMANCE ISSUES - Solve Them At The Root Cause
When you go after the root cause of performance issues, itʼs not enough to tell people to
change their behavior or what to think. You need to give people the knowledge, the tools
and the best practices to change permanently - from the inside out.
THE EDUCATION - From Potential To Performance
Learn how the mind works, how thinking affects behavior.
Learn about the brain, how it functions and how to access its potential.
Learn how to be creative, beyond anything youʼve ever imagined.
Learn to overcome mental barriers - about self, about others, about life, about working
with others, about what is possible.
THE PROFILE OF THE GRADUATE - Empowerment
More open-minded
Heightened efficacy, self-confidence
Creative
Self-motivated
Accountable in all aspects of life
Goal and end-results oriented
Highly engaged
Keener sensitivity to the behavior of others
Looking toward career growth within the organization
3. THE TEACHER: LOU TICE - Masterful Educator
Lou Tice is an accomplished teacher in making complex
psychological principles accessible, relevant, life-changing, and fun.
Lou is considered a “translator” of research psychology. He
maintains working relationships with key academic researchers like
Dr. Albert Bandura (Stanford University); Dr. Martin Seligman
(University of Pennsylvania); Dr. Gary Latham (University of
Toronto).
Lou and Diane Tice founded The Pacific Institute in 1971.
Lou is also a pioneer in the field of video education and train-the-trainer systems, having
created educational programs in multi-media since 1976.
Louʼs experience in working with Fortune 1000 companies spans over 40 years. Lou
received his Bachelorʼs degree from Seattle University. He went on to earn a Masters in
Education, with a major focus in the mental health sciences.
THE OPEN SEMINAR - Mobilizing Brainpower, Employee Engagement
“Thought Patterns For High Performance 3.0” [TPHP] video education engages you
personally and professionally. Your life and career inform this education experience,
resulting in insights and applications unique to you. The seminar is used in organizations
as an all-employee, career development program and also doubles as an employee
engagement offering, creating significant goodwill to be reflected back on the sponsoring
organization.
This 2-day, “hands-on” course is facilitated by Ron Medved and includes learning
materials and 20-session, four week audio reinforcement program by Lou Tice.
4. FACILITATOR EDUCATION - Leading The Self Motivated, Adult Learner
The TPHP video education is “facilitated” by our clients, to their own people. Lou Tice
quality controls the delivery of the cognitive psychology concepts on video. Facilitators
learn how to translate the TPHP learning experience into their specific personal,
professional, and organizational applications. Facilitator candidates are often training
professionals or employees who are the natural, informal leaders within an organization.
This 2-day, “how-to” certification course includes facilitator manual, lesson plans, and
group practicum. Facilitator education lead by Ron Medved.
LICENSING OPPORTUNITY - Having Our Clients Deliver Our Courses
The TPHP program is available to be licensed for use inside participating client
organizations. License requires certified facilitators trained and approved by The Pacific
Institute.
The Pacific Institute programs, like TPHP, are supported by experienced Institute “project
directors”. Each client who licenses education from The Pacific Institute is advised and
coached on an on-going basis. The project director is available to client facilitators to
provide access to best practices from The Pacific Institute and to aid in client
implementations, as needed.
License and learning materials costs are available upon request.

5. RETURN ON INVESTMENT - Assessing The Impact of Thinking Differently
The goal of the “Thought Patterns For High Performance” seminar - classroom and self-
study systems - is to assimilate the learning so that it becomes a natural, automatic way
that we think, work, and live everyday.
Successful assimilation of these teaching concepts is similar to a software upgrade. You
are now running your life and work experiences through a new, brain-friendly set of
concepts. If you are already happy, healthy, smart, and successful, our intention is to
make you even more of a “conscious competent” by helping you organize your thinking
skills based on proven principles from cognitive science.
This exercise leads to a multiple-return on your education investment, no matter how you
choose to measure it.
ORGANIZATIONAL PROJECTS - Partnering For Business Results
Over the past 40 years, The Pacific Institute has built the organizational development
capacity to help our clients engineer large-scale change. Our project teams regularly
engage in strategic initiatives requiring innovation, mindset change and corporate culture
transformation.
The Pacific Institute has worked with over 60% of the Fortune 500 companies; delivered
programs in 15 languages in 60 countries; and have touched the lives of an estimated 30
million people.
EDUCATION FOR THE COMMON GOOD - In Support of the Community
The Pacific Institute offers similar programs for school teachers, teenagers, post-secondary
students, law enforcement professionals, the economically disadvantaged, and individuals
having suffered sudden disabilities.

7. What makes for a high-performance business
environment? Oftentimes, it’s a deeper understanding
of human behavior. People are key. Creative and
engaged people inevitably make the difference. This is
where psychology and strategy meet.
Ron Medved
Ron brings 35 years of experience designing strategies to help organizations mobilize the power
and creativity of their people. His client work at The Pacific Institute [TPI] has included managing
long-term service relationships with organizations like NASA; Rockwell International; Hughes
Aircraft; Westinghouse-Hanford; General Electric/RCA; Aramco; Saudia Airlines; U.S.Bancorp/
Piper-Jaffray; Chicago Title & Trust; John L. Scott; National Association of Realtors; Boston
Edison; Digital Equipment Corporation; Argonne Laboratories; Westin Hotels; U.S. Department of
Energy; U.S. Defense Logistics Agency; Air War University; and Heritage University.
Originally, Ron joined TPI in 1976 and is credited as having helped pioneer the Institute’s early
entry into video education. In 1996, he took a hiatus from his Institute work to establish a private
consulting practice – offering strategic planning, organizational development, and executive
coaching services.
Ron returned to The Pacific Institute in 2003 as Vice-President of Business Development for North
America, which included overseeing new product development, supporting consultants in the field,
and coordination of TPI’s culture practice. Ron also headed up sports projects for TPI featuring
championship coaches Pete Carroll [USC]; Nick Saban [Alabama]; and Mark Shubert [USA
Swimming].
On September 21, 2010, Ron published, with co-author Gregg Cochlan, World Peace Really: One
Mind @ A Time. a book about the application of cognitive psychology to the cause of peaceful
coexistence.
Ron is a graduate of the University of Washington where he was a team captain, inspirational award
winner, and academic All-American football player for the Huskies. Following a five year
professional football career with the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League, Ron’s
early business career included work as a stockbroker and as the president of a regional, NASD
broker-dealer firm, specializing in the raising of capital to build low-income and elderly housing.
