Every day more than 32200 men, women and children are forced
to leave their country looking for refuge somewhere near or far
from their home.
They are refugees and migrants coming from countries plagued by
years of war, violence and poverty.

6. How dangerous is the journey?
More than 3770 refugees and migrants have died this year trying
to cross the Mediterranean Sea in overcrowding rubber dinghies or
unsafe fishing boats. Most died on the crossing from north Africa
to Italy and more than 800 died in the Aegean crossing from
Turkey to Greece.

most of them choose to
claim asylum to other
countries.
