Introducing Kinect for
Xbox 360
One small step for man, one giant
 step for mankind: Neil Armstrong.

 Kinect for Xbox 360 is changing
   the game.
 Well, it’s changing how you play
   games.
 Because with Kinect, there are no
   controllers or remotes.
Gaming without
 controllers
 On November 27, 2010, Microsoft
released Kinect as a peripheral for
 the Xbox 360.
 It uses a sensor and dual-camera
device to track the motion of the
  players themselves.
 Becoming the first motion control
  system capable of tracking the
player in 3D space without the
  need for a controller.
 It sold an average of 133,333 units
a day for the first 60 days and a
total of 6 million units during the
  same period.
 KINECT earned the Guinness
 World Record for the "fastest
 selling consumer electronics
 device".
Kinect for Windows
 On February 21, 2011 Microsoft
announced that it would release a
  non-commercial Kinect software
  development kit (SDK) for Windows
in spring 2011, which was released
for Windows 7 on June 16, 2011 in
  12 countries.
 The SDK includes Windows 7
  compatible PC drivers for Kinect
  device.
 It provides Kinect capabilities to
  developers to build applications
with C++, C#, or Visual Basic by
  using Microsoft Visual Studio 2010.
Hardware Requirements
 To use a Kinect for Windows sensor
you will need a PC with the
   following:
 1. Microsoft Windows 7, Microsoft
    Windows Embedded Standard 7 or
    Windows 8 Developer Preview
    (desktop applications only).
 2. 32 bit (x86) or 64 bit (x64)
    processor
 3. Dual-core 2.66-GHz or faster
    processor
 4. Dedicated USB 2.0 bus
 5. 2 GB RAM

The Kinect Sensor
 The sensor is compatible with every
Xbox 360 and can be easily setup
  using appropriate cables.
 The Kinect Sensor uses 3-D depth
  sensors to measure your body
movements that let you control the
elements in the game. So while playing
the games with a Kinect Sensor, you
  are the controller.
 Kinect is capable of simultaneously
tracking up to six people, including two
active players for motion analysis with
a feature extraction of 20 joints per
  player.
 RGB camera is used to recognize a
  user while playing the game.
 You can also use the camera to take
  photos and record videos.
 The microphones come in handy for
  providing voice input when needed.
 we can automatically adjust the sensor
for an appropriate viewing angle by
  using the motorized tilt.
A minimum distance of 6 ft is
required between the player and Kinect
  Sensor for smooth game play.
 Ensure that the room has proper and
  even lighting.
