Charles Bonfiglio, a 30-year Meineke franchise owner and longtime auto industry veteran that led
the Meineke franchise with the top store sales for the last 13 consecutive years, recognized the
tremendous and unique opportunity Tint World could offer as a franchise, and bought the business
that had six company owned locations in 2006, then turned it into a national franchise system in 2007
with three new franchise store openings in the first year. Tint World is now the nation’s largest and
fastest-growing window tinting and auto styling accessory business, and specializes in auto window
tinting, clear-bra paint protection film, vehicle wraps, car audio video, auto security, remote start,
auto detailing, auto reconditioning and styling accessories. Today, there are 54 Tint World franchises
purchased in the US plus 37 franchises sold in three additional countries, with plans to award 30 more
franchises stores in the US and award over 30 international franchise stores totaling 150 worldwide
stores open or under development in 2015.
Bonfiglio began his relationship with MAM Software as a Meineke franchise owner. He was an area
developer for Meineke that opened 7 center locations in Florida for over 30 years and still owns
Sawgrass Auto Inc., in Sunrise, Fla. and Weston Auto Inc., in Weston, Fla. Both are two of the largest
franchised locations of the Meineke Car Care Centers.

Since its 1982 opening in Florida, Tint World has
provided window tinting to the automotive aftermarket,
adding auto security, stereo video system upgrades,
auto detailing, auto reconditioning and automotive
accessories over 30 years.

Challenge
When Bonfiglio opened his first Meineke
location, computers were not yet used in
managing the business. Bonfiglio has a
natural knack for systemizing technology,
and was asked to join the corporate
computer committee for Meineke to find
and develop software systems that would
help franchisees and corporate executives
manage business more effectively. He
researched over 30 point-of-sale (POS)
systems and identified the advantages
and shortcomings of all of them.
Bonfiglio likes to automate processes and
identified areas of opportunity for better
productivity, accuracy and efficiency.
When Meineke gave its dealers a short
list of software packages to choose
from, Bonfiglio knew immediately that VAST was the best choice to meet the dealers’needs for day-to-day
operations while still meeting corporate’s needs and requirements for communication, reporting, and
processing royalties and advertising fees.
All of his research and expertise in automation and technology paid off again in 2006 when Bonfiglio
purchased Tint World and turned the company into a franchise. He understood the technology needs from
both sides of the business – as the corporate franchisor owner and from a franchisee’s operational perspective.
Bonfiglio wanted an advanced point of sale and business management system for Tint World that would
streamline and integrate core business processes to improve customer service, productivity and profits. A

Solution
Bonfiglio chose MAM Software’s VAST Enterprise solutions for Tint World’s retail, back office and corporate
needs. For franchisees, the VAST Windows-based solution manages day-to-day business operations, like
estimating, sales, order processing and reporting. VAST includes an integrated parts catalog and labor
guide to accelerate the estimating process while ensuring all jobs are profitable. For Tint World corporate,
VAST provides real-time communication, detailed reporting and automated royalties computation and
e-commerce processing.
Tint World franchisees use VAST to schedule their day for maximum productivity, to automate the
estimating process for increased profitability; and to manage customer touch points and satisfaction
before, during and after service. When a customer enters a Tint World center, the representative checks
the customer history to check past services and to see if there are outstanding recommended service
opportunities. The rep enters the job into the computer, and VAST tells how long the job will take
and when it can be started. VAST checks in-house inventory and can also search local suppliers and
comparison shop on price and availability.
At the end of the day, VAST helps the store manager quickly
close the day, including sales reports, tracking technicians,
sales commissions, spiffs and time clocks. Tint World had
VAST customise nightly automated customers data feeds
for the days sales into the Tint World marketing intranet
and emails them a satisfaction 5 star survey. If they are
dissatisfied it leads the customer to a customer feedback
page, so management is prompted to follow up with a
phone call to satisfy the customer. If they rate their Tint
World service as a four or five-star experience, the system
gives them an option to share this experience on Yelp. At

For Tint World corporate, the real-time information sharing and endless reporting options ensure smooth
management and provide great insight into areas of opportunity for added profitability for individual
store owners. Every sale, customer and KPI (key performance indicators) is uploaded on a daily basis, and
every franchisee can log in to see how they rank by total sales, product lines, customer satisfaction and
profitability. For all sales that are uploaded, VAST calculates royalties and advertising fees. The system
creates a line item for every store with their percentage of fees and then electronically pulls the money
from their business account into corporate with the touch of one button. Bonfiglio estimates that one
accountant can run 500 stores because the financial aspect is so automated by VAST.
Tint World also uses MAM OpenWebs eCommerce system that provides integration with the Tint World
Online Store so customers can order products and schedule appointments online. Each store has its
own microsite so that when a customers shops a particular franchise location, it is credited to that store.
OpenWebs automatically updates the stores’POS system.

Tint World can identify every car that was in for window tinting and send an email to those individuals
informing them that Tint World can tint their home and business windows, as well. The VAST Marketing
feed provides invoice level information to our companies CRM marketing system that includes recent
customers who have declined a recommended service and send an automated email or postcard reminder
for that service, and other service reminders, as well as the company promotional marketing offers.
