How best to ensure bat control in your homes
When we here the word ‘bats’ the picture that we conjure in our mind is of those dreaded vampire
bats that feed on blood and are associated with something sinister and horrifying; this is in fact
not the complete truth, bats are actually fascinating mammals that feed on all sorts of insects and
are actually very important for maintaining the balance of our ecosystem, but none the less no one
wants to have them in their homes and if found would go in for bat control to drive them out
safely.
A little about bats here
Bats inhabit damp and dark isolated spaces like the crawl spaces, attics, basements, etc., they are
nocturnal creatures and come out in the dark to hunt for food. The unique feature of this amazing
mammal is they hang upside down when sleeping, holding on to the support with their powerful
claws. These creatures prefer dark places since they get blinded by sunlight; they basically
depend on their ears that are highly sensitive to communicate and gauge the distances. There are
almost 900 species of bats world over and they are mostly found in the tropics where food is
found in plenty. They mostly feed on insects and devour poisonous creatures like scorpions and
others since they are immune to their venom, they eat rodents, birds, fish, frogs and even
vegetarian stuff like fruit and nectar; and they do feed on blood if they find nothing else to eat.
How does one get to know that bats inhabit their homes?
Since bats do not come out in the daylight it is usually difficult to spot them in your homes, but
their presence can be known when you find bat droppings in and around the house. And you can
spot them sometimes in the dusk when they leave the building to hunt for food.
And when you have colonies of them residing in the dark spaces in your home or attic you will be
able to hear bat noises like squeaking or scratching and the other way of knowing is when your
house gets enveloped in a peculiar and an unpleasant odor that arises due to the accumulation of
guano or bat droppings.
Now how to go about bat control?
Though the easiest way to get rid of them would be to poison them and kill them this method is
illegal and not allowed since however problematic they may be to our homes they are essential
for our eco system and have to be protected.
The best way to drive them out and control further bats from entering would be to call in the
professional bat control company; they are trained in effective bat control and possess the
necessary tools and equipment to perform the job. DIY projects for bat removal and bat control
are not safe and also not effective, you could harm yourself in the bargain, which is truly not
worth saving the money hiring professional help.
The bat removal company drives the bats out in a professional and a humane manner and adopts
measures for bat control too.
They clean up the contaminated area, sanitize the place and repair the damages done to wiring
and the structures. They identify the vulnerable and weak spots and bat proof them by sealing
them or inserting one-way cones that allow the bats to leave but prevent them from re entering the
house.
As soon as you get to know that bats have entered your home call the bat control professionals
immediately to safe guard the health of your family members.
