protect our environment”
2. We split into four different groups:
1. Transports
2. Heating
3. Electricity
4. Paper consumption
We have prepared a
questionnaire and
chosen six classes, the
sample classes .
4. THE QUESTIONNAIRE:

10. We interviewed Luigi, our caretaker and we
found out that the fuel with which we heat
the school is methane
11. We requested data to the Municipality of Vittorio
Veneto to know what was our methane consumption
12. 1 How many would be willing to lower
of a degree the temperature?
2 How many people believe in
class it is too hot?
3 How many students report that they
keep the windows flapped for many

20. Interviewing Mrs. Loretta we verified that in one day
about two reams of paper are used, equivalent to
1000 sheets, without considering the secretariat and
the presidency.
22. 1- In 2014 our school consumed 53537 kwh
(date reported by Vittorio Veneto’s town hall)
We checked and we found that in every class there are 8 neon tubes ( each neon has
58 watt)
if in a classroom the light was turned on for 5 hours, it would consume : in
1 day = 2,32 kwh ( 58 watt x 8 neon tubes x 5 : 1000= 2 ,32 kwh)
1 month = 58 kwh ( 2,32kwh x 25 = 58 kwh)
1 classroom in a year = 464 kwh
23. 5- In our school there are 380 neon tubes for a
consumption of 110 kwh in a day
(in five hours but the school closes at 18:00)
26. We can reduce the emission of
CO2 with simple behaviours
27. The 122 students, who live at less than 2 km
from the school, could come to school
walking or by bike
28. Car pooling is the best choice
You will save 237 gr CO2/per kilometer for
each person
29. We found out that in our institute we only use non-
recycled paper, for which production there is a
bigger emission of CO2 than for the recycled paper.
30. Decreasing the heater’s temperature of
1 ° Celsius our consumption would
decrease of 7%,
which is above 2012 cubic meters of
methane in a school year
31.
32. We can do a lot to reduce the emission
of co2.
1)If we switched off half the lights that are in
corridors we would save 4060 KWh per year.
2)If we switched off the light in the classrooms
during the break we would save 23,2 KWh for
each classroom.
