Professor at the United States Military Academy at West Point, Colonel Matthew Moten, Ph.D., is the former head of the Department of History, leading the department in fulfilling its mission of educating, training, and inspiring cadets. Previously the deputy head of the Department of History, he also served as Deputy Commander of Task Force Dragon, Multi-National Corps in Iraq. Colonel Matthew Moten, Ph.D., has also served as academy professor at the United States Military Academy in West Point and as a legislative advisor and speechwriter to the Army chief of staff at the Pentagon, among other various positions in his 30 year military career.
