Welcome - Michele Maxwell, Academic Advisor in the CT department How many of you have built a webpage? What did you use to build one (html only, Dreamweaver, Frontpage, etc.)? Have you any of you studied a programming language? Which one? How many of you have ever played on an Xbox or PlayStation? PCC offers classes, certificates and degrees in computer technology and am going to (1) explain what those programs are, (2) tell you what you can do now to prepare yourself for these programs and (3) give you information on how to apply to PCC.
We have five programs that focus on computer technology. My department offers programs in the first three (CAS, CIS and CS). However, we work closely with the Graphic Design and Multimedia departments and our programs often require students to take classes from one another. For example, web design students in our CAS department must take 6 MM classes. Graphic Design students need to take classes in Dreamweaver (CAS) and so on.
Applying is easy - fill out an application and pay $25. (students under age 16 require additional paperwork and must pass into WR 115 and Math 60) Take placement tests Meet with an Academic Advisor or a Career Counselor Register for classes
