They include a short snippet of music that plays into there intro. In the
podcast they talk about pop culture and did a quiz on the subject. They tend
to just chat about things that they are interested in such as UFC because most
of the audience they have are either there same age or have very similar
interests. Although some of the podcasts are light hearted and easy to listen
to they also occasionally address more real subjects and express views on all
different things from politics to advertising rules in UFC. They use very
informal speech and talk to a teenage audience yet it could also be aimed at
young adults. The audience appeal is that the two people who do the podcast
are both YouTuber's so they already have an audience that is large enough to
have people want to hear what you have to say for an hour or so.

They have a small short jingle they play at the beginning and after every ad
break. They talk about pretty much anything each episode has a theme or
main talking point but every episode is a different subject. The language is
very informal they sit down and have a fairly casual conversation. The
audience is mainly brought again by their YouTube channel although they play
games on their YouTube channel the audience of the podcast is more drawn
in by their personality's. The podcast is aimed at an audience of gamers yet
doesn’t really talk about games. The hosts talk about other things to try
maintain their original gaming audience while also trying to attract a
completely new audience at the same time. This makes room for more
freedom as to what they can talk about.

The only real music that is played in this podcast is a short jingle to represent
the start of Farah Abraham time which is a segment on the Podcast. The
language is very much aimed at teenagers and young adults, this is shown by
the use of informal language. The format is very conversational. The audience
is brought by the audience that comes from the guests on the show that are
new every episode. The guests are all internet content creators, whether it is
someone who makes videos on YouTube or someone who makes vines. The
more loyal and constant audience is brought by Shane as he is a pretty
popular YouTuber himself. The podcast only really has one real segment the
rest is more of an interview, although seems more laid back, easy to listen to
and conversational than other interviews. There are usually 3 times that the
interview will stop and the language will become slightly more formal. This is
when Shane will advertise for a sponsor to keep the podcast free. Although
the language is more formal it is still aimed at the audience and uses
references to things that the audience will be more interested in to keep the
listener entertained.

5. Research Analysis
• What common features do the researched products
have?
• They all have a small snippet of music (a jingle) that is almost their brand as most podcasts
are not visual, this means you have to make your brand known by a certain sound.
• The podcasts audience is brought by an already existing audience and brought by the
personality of the host.
• The podcasts don’t have a specific genre or topic area, they are very much varied this adds to
the feel of the podcast and makes it more friendly and informal and easy to listen to.
• What aspects of the research will you include within
your on work?
• I want to include a small snippet of music that will become the sound that people associate
with my podcast only.
• I want the podcast to be laid back and very much more of a chat between friends than a
serious talk alone. I want it to be easy to listen to and be aimed at people my age.
7. Audience Profile
Category Demographic Content to appeal to this audience

Teenagers • I want to talk about things that are more
aimed at my interests. As I am a teenager I
feel that it would be easier to talk to
someone else my age.
Gender
Any • There would be parts that any gender can
enjoy I wouldn’t want that podcast to be
aimed at a certain gender.
Psychographic
Needs driven • I feel like most people within this
psychographic would be people who would
see the podcast and get hooked on certain
subjects quickly.
Social Status
Any • The podcast would be good quality but free,
this means that no matter what your social
status you could be interested in listening to
this podcast.
