2. Recently, RIM executives took you down the road of
what they think is their future. Even though they have
received harsh criticisms from their co-competitors
and critics alike, RIM has stood firm, ready to launch
its awaited flagship smartphone in next year‟s first
quarter. Samsung‟s Galaxy S4 may overshadow
BlackBerry 10 as it is rumored to dominate the global
market in the same quarter. Many have tried to sell
used BlackBerry phones online but RIM sees things
positively and tries to win the hearts of smartphone
users by dishing out a little of what BlackBerry 10 can
offer.
The BlackBerry 10‟s Balance is a marvelous
breakthrough in BlackBerry‟s Enterprise. The personas
help you distinguish which profile you are using, either
a corporate or a personal profile for that matter.
However, RIM doesn‟t stop there. With the flagship
smartphone‟s release is the release of a new
BlackBerry OS, the BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10.
The new OS will be integrated in the new
smartphone, which is said to have integrated
different OS‟s into one. Currently, RIM‟s BlackBerry
Mobile Fusion is the latest operating system, which is

3. used to manage BlackBerry PlayBook. The BES 10 will
be initially released with the future flagship phone
while an update is said to be available in May 2013
to assimilate various components so the phones can
run on a single server.
You probably want to sell your
BlackBerrysmartphones because the new
smartphone is anything but simple. It has apps that
can offer a wide range of options for convenience
both for corporate and personal uses. One of the
most noteworthy enhancements in BES 10 is the
Microsoft ActiveSync technology as a sync engine.
Holleran says:
“One of the challenges that enterprises have faced
with these [non BlackBerry] devices is that they‟re not
interested in exposing ActiveSync out to the public
Internet,” he says. “We‟ve solved that with the simple
change for us, of BES 5, the proprietary messaging
protocols, BES 10 and the switch out over to
ActiveSync as our sync engine. We didn‟t change
out anything that we did around the rest of it. The
security is all there, the transport is all there. We just
changed out the sync engine service.”

4. With this app, RIM can propose a number of
corporate connectivity selections for BlackBerry
smartphones with levels of security. Enterprises can
link BlackBerry tablets and BlackBerry 10 devices
directly to other operating systems like iOS and
Android and to ActiveSync without any additional
software. This allows a behind-the-firewall, secured
data transport and other security features including
the BlackBerry 10 Balance. Apple‟s iOS and Google‟s
Android software cannot support all the security
features like the BlackBerry 10. So expect that IT
policies can be applied in all situations as BlackBerry
10 devices.Sell old BlackBerrys because this cannot
get any better. Holleran says:
“We‟re dedicated to meeting the needs of our
enterprise customers, and that is a heterogeneous
world today,” he says. “In some cases, we‟re being
engaged by customers that are new to us that don‟t
have BlackBerrys, but want to manage these third-
party devices. People have come to us and said,
„RIM, you guys are a gold standard for managing
mobile devices in general. You understand it; you
know what‟s going on there. How can you help us
out with this influx of other devices?”
