1. DESIGN PROCESS
Once I decided that i would used the artwork
from the menu page used in the game i began
to play around with the design so that it would
fit the template for an App Store App. I altered
the design and made it a slightly more simpler
design for the artwork.

2. Here I have used a basic design to
compare some very dominant colours
such as Purple Iris, Maroon and Chili
Pepper Red. After experimenting with
these colours I have noticed I should
stick to a darker colour which would
blend better with the image instead of
using a bright eye catching colour.
Here are the three main steps I took to creating the
image i’m using for the application logo.
-I began with a basic outline of some character artwork.
-I then made the line bolder and used the colour white
to help it stand out from the background i will be
using.
-Using shades of grey I filled the characters features
and also used a gradient to give it some shadow and
blend the grey’s together.
I then discovered that a dark blue fitted well with the image, plus it is the
main characters costume colour. These are the four steps of experimenting
with different shades of blue and also including a shadow behind the
image giving it some depth to the background. I found that a pattern in
that background work better that just fading the colour as that had a clash
with the shadows used in the image of the character.

3. FEEDBACK
This design is very eye catching due to the contrast with the outline of the
character on top of the maroon background. It links well to the game as the image
includes an asset from the game (gun) plus it uses the main character.
It lacks the use of colours to help bring out the features used in the image. It is
quite boring and wouldn't be an exiting app to come across in the app store.
The design uses the drop shadow effectively to elevate the image from the
background. The grey shades used within the characters features work well as they
don’t complicate the design with too many complex colours.
The gradient used for the background clashes with the drop shadow used for the
image. The white outline used on the character is slightly too bold to highlight the
characters features.
This is a favorite out of the three initial ideas. Similar to the second design it uses
a grey gradient to fill the characters features and well faded drop shadow
enhancing the image from the background. The effect used for the background fits
much better than the fade or gradient.
The only problem with this design is outline used on the image of the character, as
it overpowers the design giving it a sketched look.
