topics.
One person will be assigned in each team to read the questions for
the group and keep track of the other group members'
contributions.
Your discussion will last 10 minutes.
When the discussion is over we will talk about how you think it
went.

YAAASSSSSS!
Having conversations with
your group.
Including your other group

STAYING ONTOPIC
Considering other group
members' opinions even if
they are different from ours.
Talking for the whole 10
minutes.
NAH.
Reading your answers to the
question off of your sheet.
Talking over, or ignoring
group members. Or move on
without asking group
members their opinions
Cutting up, Gossiping, or
talking about things OTHER
than the topic at hand.
Telling other group members
they are dumb because we
disagree with them.
Sitting in awkward silence for
10 minutes.
5. Accountable-
talk.
In a discussion it is important that EVERYONE is contributing.
Great ways to make sure that everyone is involved is to direct
questions to them.
EXAMPLES
"I agree with Drake because...."
"Iggy, I understand your point, but I think..."
"What do you think about that Beyonce?"
"What is your opinion Slagathor?"
"I'm not sure I understand what you mean,Wiz Kalifa, can you
explain further?"
6. Rubric:
Each group leader will be keeping track of the following during
discussion:
1. How many times you answered a question.
2. How many times you used "accountable talk" questions.
3. If you made eye contact with your group members while you
discussed.
4. If you were engaged or disconnected from the group during
discussion.
7. IMPORTANT
INFO:
Group leaders are still expected to turn in a question sheet. Also,
while you are encouraged to contribute to the discussion, it is not
mandatory.Your points will come from you giving an accurate
score to your peers.

performance/contribution, it is worth 20 participation points.
