In the 2005 Location Ranking Survey of 4000 human resource professionals in 35 countries based on expatriate living and working conditions, Singapore was ranked #1 in the best locations in Asia for expatriates to live and work. They topped the chart above Tokyo and Hong Kong due to better Air Quality. (ECA, 2005) Singapore has always excelled in air pollution controls and is known to have one of the best air qualities in the region as compared to the smog in Bangkok, Jakarta and Manila. However, it’s a misconception that air pollution does not exist in Singapore.
