A short presentation showcasing five (5) books you might not find in the business and/or marketing section, but will benefit marketers, leaders, and business people.
2. The Slight Edge by Jeff
Olsen
"This brilliant little book is
really about self development.
And it's really a success guide
that lets you take all the other
wonderful information in the
world and make it work for
you in a positive way.
It is in my opinion the best
$10 you could spend on your
success as a marketer or
anything else for that matter."
- Flyn Penoyer
3. Visual Thesaurus: A Quick-Flip
Brainstorming Tool For Graphic
Designers by Chris Goveia
"One I enjoy using is:
"Visual Thesaurus: A
Quick-Flip Brainstorming
Tool for Graphic
Designers." Due to the
visual element (I am NOT a
graphics designer..), I
often come up with great
ideas using the pictures as
a bridge to a new
metaphor or concept."
- Andrea Dale
4. The Tipping Point by
Malcolm Gladwell
"It will definitely be "The Tipping
Point" by Malcolm Gladwell. He
wrote this book years before we
got familiar with Facebook and
Twitter and yet there's so many
take-aways on how things
spread or amplified by humans
in a social context.
It does not mention the word
"online marketing", but I found a
lot of inspiration for that when
reading the book."
- Joakim Ditlev
5. The Art Of War by Sun
Tzu
"Simply put even a Cliff
Notes' version could give
some basic tools for
success."
- Paul Garcia
6. Silvio Berlusconi: Television, Power and
Patrimony
by Paul Ginsborg
"The narrative is essentially a giant
guide on what to-do and what not
to-do when building a brand. For
Berlusconi, he is the brand. He's
grandiose, simpatico, but also shady
and not universally trusted. BUT he's
smart. He takes advantage when
advantages are visible, and, not only
is he the brand, he's created
successful and globally recognized
brands as well (AC Milan, Forza
Italia, Canale 5, Italia 1, etc.). Also,
like the shadiest of shady, he never
leaves a trail behind him - well,
until recently."
- Naomi Dyer
