 We know students are seeking consistency within their courses/units in
the online learning environment
 TEQSA also know this
 TEQSA also want a level of consistency for the learning outcomes
between f2f and online courses
 This means institutions need to have quality processes in place to ensure
both course quality and process quality
 Over the last few year TEQSA have been focusing on process quality
 They are now turning their attention to course/unit quality
 But It takes a village to raise a child

 Few university policy cycles include the value-adding stages of
monitoring, evaluation and benchmarking. This suggests that
many Australian universities will face challenges meeting the
Australian tertiary sector regulators’ requirements regarding
evidence of implementation of policy, and improvement of
policy over time. (Freeman, 2014, P. 84)

Quality in TEL  We know students are seeking consistency within their courses/units in the online learning environment  TEQSA also know this  TEQSA also want a level of consistency for the learning outcomes between f2f and online courses  This means institutions need to have quality processes in place to ensure both course quality and process quality  Over the last few year TEQSA have been focusing on process quality  They are now turning their attention to course/unit quality  But It takes a village to raise a child michael_sankey
  • 3. michael_sankey  Few university policy cycles include the value-adding stages of monitoring, evaluation and benchmarking. This suggests that many Australian universities will face challenges meeting the Australian tertiary sector regulators’ requirements regarding evidence of implementation of policy, and improvement of policy over time.
