The names of the breeds used in Q30 of the Media Influence and Breed Specific Legislation survey.

1. For anyone that is interested here are the breeds that were used in Q30 of the
survey. As you can see identifying breeds is not as easy as you might think! One
purpose of including this question was to compare whether those that worked with
animals would be more likely to be able to identify breeds on appearance,
compared to those that do not work with animals. Another purpose was to see
whether those that identified restricted breeds by name could also identify
restricted breeds by sight. As there is no ‘defined’ Pit Bull breed, cross breeds and
obscure breeds were included. This shows how ridiculous BSL is in that it is nearly
impossible to identify cross-breds, let alone ‘pure’ breds, based on appearance.
