Like asking your kids to help you with a chore, you may or may not be happy with the result. I bet that you’re sitting here today because you’re not happy with those two resources… ‘re going to widen your range over the next 45 minutes. I bet when you leave today you’ll be eager to stretch out into some NEW sites to find engaging material for your kids…
We all use google etc, when you do, keep this in mind.

First, look at home…
141,000,000 is the number of sites listed on google under “teacher resources.” You’ll never see them all. The hot educational term these days is to seek out “curated” resources. It’s really something we do as teachers all the time. Just like a curator at a museum, a curated resource picks only the best and most relevant things at hand to share with others.
Any of you who have kids will probably agree that children’s birthday parties have become bewilderingly creative, complicated things with the invention of PINTEREST. We’re able to use the computer to search out the most amazing birthday party ideas in seconds… and capitalize on other people’s creativity for our own ends.
Anyone can look like Martha Stewart if she searches the web long enough.
There’s nothing wrong with this. It’s been around since forever, the 1600s at least…
So if you are planning in someone else’s room you don’t have to log in to their computer… just go to the bookmark site. Follows you home… also notifies you when a link doesn’t work any longer… explain each…
THE REAL EXPERTS. THE BIG GUNS. These are the ones you always forget because they don’t come up high on web searches: sites sponsored by government and institutions. They are some of the best, most researched, most complete sources out there though, so stop forgetting them and bookmark them!
Again, authoritative… these are sponsored by organizations who exist to improve subject area teaching. They have research behind them…
