Problems Facedby NGOs:-

1) Lack & Misuse of Funds:
NGOs need money for operation.
NGOs depends’ on funds donated by common people. Unlike companies, NGOs
don’t have any particular product to sell in the market and to generate revenue.
NGOs mostly suffer from paucity of funds and the funds which they collect, half
of that is misused by workers in most of the NGOs. Now-a-days’ companies and
business-men’s run NGOs, only to convert their black money into white money
and also to avoid taxes.
NGOs which actually are willing to work for a social cause never have enough
funds to fulfill the need of people living there.
Anyone can register a society and it becomes an NGO, there is no legal regulation
for NGOs. People are getting part of NGOs for their own interest rather for social
work.
Solutions:
NGO can organize fund raising events in the NGOs and can invite people to
spent time with people living there. For Eg.:- In orphanage homes and old
age homes.
NGO can offer simple products for sale at a special price, which will help
them to generate revenues and can help NGO to becomeindependent.
2. Government can/should make the current legal regulation more strict
regarding the way NGOs raise/spent their there fund.
2) Lack of Volunteerism/Socialwork among Youth:
As NGOs are non-profit organization most people are not willing to join them
because they don’t have much financial resources to pay them.
Lack of access to skilled volunteers is another problem faced by the NGO.
Management of human resource, marketing strategies is needed in running NGOs.
But now a days’ youth is more leaned towards professionalism rather than social
work.
Considering the society's obsession with stable, high paying, secure jobs, working
at NGOs is seen as something one would do due to lack of other options.
NGOs require people to work at remote areas for longer hours, it is difficult to
attract skilled and experienced people to work in those remote areas for extended
hours. Highly experienced people demand more salary which is not possible for
NGOs.
Finding people who are passionate and serious about the work is very difficult.
One should be able to work with limited resources available. Self-motivation and
willingness to work for a cause are two most important characteristics a person
should poses to work in an NGO.
Solutions:
There are many websites which assist in fulfilling this need for skilled volunteers.
They connect NGOs with volunteers based on their specific requirements.
These enable organizations to increase the efficacy and amplify the impact of their
work with the support from skilled volunteers Entrepreneurs, home makers,
working professional and students looking for social work may join in as
volunteers by registering through these sites.
Advertisements and Camping should be done to attract and motivate more people
towards social work. NGOs may contact particular companies to finance them
through their corporate social responsibility (CSR) work.
