Celebration Time: 60 years of FARE
The FARE company history began 60 years ago – it was originally founded
as a trading business. The focus was on umbrellas just a few years later and
generations of collections have now left FARE Schirmwerk for more than
half a century. With our anniversary catalogue, we would like to invite you

Design Prize Germany – the FARE®
-Exzenter mini umbrella (art. 5199) was
nominated for the Design Prize Germany in 2014. Applications are requested by
the Federal Ministry for Business and Technology and it is considered to be the
council's highest accolade for design. Developments that have already proven
their competitiveness and have future potential are primarily considered for the
award.
Red Dot Design Award – the FARE®
-Compose midsize umbrella (art. 4495)
was able to convince the international jury of experts last year. This was the
fourth time a FARE product has won a Red Dot Award; a prize that has develo-
ped into a globally recognised and sought-after seal of quality since the middle
of the 1950s. There are currently 23 product categories you can compete for
and be subjected to the strictest selection criteria.
Best of Bestsellers – with creative solutions and the excellent quality of its pro-
ducts, FARE has been able to win the Best of Bestsellers several times now. The
last time was in 2012 with the Colormagic®
automatic umbrella (art. 1142C). It is
awarded each year at the WerbeWiesn in Munich - the trade fair for advertising
media and exhibition design. It is attended by around 400 companies from
industry, trade and services from German-speaking countries in order to present
their latest advertising media. The prize is awarded in the categories give-aways,
medium range and VIP gifts.
PromoFritz Award – Promoswiss, the branch association of the
Swiss advertising product industry, calls for applications for the
PromoFritz-Award once a year. FARE umbrellas manage to achieve
high rankings here as well, achieving the PromoFritz in bronze in the
year 2013. This competition honours outstanding advertising pro-
ducts and concepts, which are circulated in Switzerland. A jury of
experts from marketing, advertising, specialist media and advertising
media evaluate the products according to the criteria of originality,
innovativeness, achievement of the advertising message, communi-
cative sustainability, functionality and practical value.
FARE repeatedly sets new standards with continual innovations, creative
ideas and intelligent solutions. FARE products have therefore already
been honoured with many (inter)nationally recognised prizes for their
trend-setting design and functionality.
Six Decades of Success

Certified – In regular intervals the TÜV Rheinland Products GmbH
checks the majority of FARE umbrellas for the following quality features:
n Wind resistance n Break-strength tested
n User friendliness n Waterproof
n Flexibility of the rib construction
The certified FARE umbrellas are identified with the relevant stamp in
the catalogue and fulfil the requirements of TÜV Rheinland standard
2 PfG 1048/11.06. The production is subject to at least one audit per
year by TÜV Rheinland LGA Products GmbH.
Safe – As an independent laboratory, LABTECH Prüfungsgesellschaft
mbH in Quakenbrück checks FARE’s compliance with the EU’s
REACH regulation (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and
Restriction of Chemicals). FARE therefore ensures that all legal
regulations on harmful substances have been observed and that
only safe products reach the market.
Human – FARE is a member of the BSCI (Business Social Compliance Initi-
ative) and is subject to this code of conduct. It is based on the UNO’s Dec-
laration of Human Rights, the conventions of the International Labour Or-
ganisation (ILO) and the UNO regarding the rights of children as well as the
elimination of discrimination against women, the UN Global Compact and
the OECD guidelines for multinational companies. Responsible behaviour
and, most of all, better working conditions should be achieved as a result.
The FARE brand stands for continual optimisation and reliable premium quality.

LED lights
A torch helps you stay on the right path and to steer clear of obstacles
or tripping hazards. This is why four models from the FARE Safebrella
family (articles 5171, 5471, 5571 and 7571) are provided with a
bright LED light in the handle.

Reflective corners
Corners made of 3M™ Scotchlite™ are used as standard for
articles 5071, 5171, 5471, 5571 and 7571. Possible on
request for other FARE umbrella models.
Reflective piping
The light from street lights or cars driving past is reflected by reflective piping
(in accordance with DIN 471/EN ISO 20471) and pedestrians are more likely
to be seen in poor visibility conditions. Possible on all FARE umbrella models.
A full collection of TÜV test seals
The TÜV test mark shows which quality features a product can boast. These quality features are generally tested under
laboratory conditions and using practical trials. A product passes the tests if it can continue to be used without any
safety concerns or reduction in quality.

EUROPE-PRODUCTION
What is Europe-Production?
“Europe-Production” means that you can print your desired motif
edge-to-edge onto the cover of an umbrella that has been prefabri-
cated – and from a quantity of just 48 units.
Print motifs, which cover several sections of an umbrella, could only
be produced in the Far East until now, which resulted in high mini-
mum order quantities and long delivery times.
Europe-Production means that a seamless, single layered polyester-
pongee cover (one-piece-cover) is printed using the sublimation
print method and stretched over a prefabricated umbrella frame. This
brings several benefits in one:
n Low minimum order quantities
n Short production and delivery times
n No offset, no fit inaccuracies
n Good colour reproduction of pantone colours and runs
n No initial printing costs
The Europe-Production is applied to the frame of the TÜV certified
1115 FARE®
-Fashion AC. As well as edge-to-edge printing, the
umbrella can also be upgraded with doming or a laser sticker on the
handle.
Important note:
Unfortunately metallic colours (e. g. gold or silver)
cannot be produced with this printing method.
The cover is always enclosed with a black piping
on the edge.

(TIF, PSD, JPG or similar) as well as details of the pantone
colours in your motif.
We test the feasibility of your motif and send you a
visualisation for your approval. If you wish, you can also
order a print sample for € 120,00, which we can produce
for you within around 7–10 working days.
Once we have your approval, we need approx. 3–4 weeks
for production, depending on the quantity ordered.
