Nick
Borcescu's
background
and
training
in
architecture
and
landscape
architecture
brings
an
innovative
approach
to
his
work
as
Senior
Designer.
Presently
running
a
freelance
private
practice,
Nick
has
been
involved
in
architectural
detailing
and
construction
early
in
his
career,
and
has
worked
in
close
relationships
with
a
number
of
architectural
practices
in
Canada
and
the
US.
Merged
with
his
extensive
knowledge
of
3D
applications
and
combination
of
multimedia
presentations
in
the
architectural
environment,
Nick
has
held
positions
of
consultant,
designer,
detailer,
and
gallery
curator
for
architectural
exhibits
at
several
galleries
and
international
shows.
As
a
concept
designer,
Nick
has
produced
presentation
and
conceptual
schemes
for
a
wide
array
of
projects
varying
in
size
and
programme,
and
diverse
locations
around
the
world.
From
small
residential
projects
to
large
museum
designs,
when
working
on
concept
schematics
Nick
employs
both
2D
and
3D
software
packages
in
order
to
convey
the
optimum
quality
of
presentation
media
to
suit
the
scope
and
budget
of
the
work.
At
base,
the
concept
and
preliminary
work
is
generated
in
VectorWorks
or
SketchUp,
and
is
further
refined
in
Art*lantis
Render,
Photoshop
CS4,
and/or
Panzer
Doodle.
In
dealing
with
the
grand
scale
of
master
plans,
Nick
channels
his
educational
and
practical
experiences
as
a
Facilities
Planner.
Nick
has
worked
on
international
projects
that
explore
improvements
to
visitor
and
materials
circulation
within
existing
structures,
as
well
as
planning
additions,
renovations,
and
new
construction
aimed
at
maximizing
the
visitor
experience.
Nick's

Canada,
the
US,
and
Southeast
Asia.
This
involves
all
aspects
of
detailing
and
materials
specifications
geared
for
building
permit
submission.
Nick
is
highly
aware
of
site
concerns
affecting
future
and
proposed
designs,
including
lighting,
accessibility,
and
tactile/visual
stimulation
–
and
has
a
personal
interest
in
green
architecture,
recycled
materials,
and
ADA-‐related
work.
