The Centre for Development Innovation at Wageningen UR provides short international courses and wanted to make the courses paperless by providing tablets to participants. In 2013 they piloted tablets with 3 courses involving 75 participants who were happy with the results. Tablets allowed participants to access course documents, videos, websites and tools for collaboration. They provided technical support for Asus tablets that cost around 200 euros. Over 300 participants used tablets in 2013, keeping them for a 75 euro deposit. Feedback was positive with few issues. The use of tablets helped launch educational innovations at CDI.
