Burger

Think of your speech as a burger.
You have the burger buns, then you have the meat,
cheese, lettuce, tomatoes...all the things that make the
burger yummy!
A Burger???

Use this model to write each reason/point you want to

I have completed my research and I am ready to
  write my speech.
S...is for Statement
S...is for Statement
Make a statement (reason/ point)
This should be a brief, to-the-point reason
e.g. Five days is too long to be at school because
children need time to play
E...is for Explain
E...is for Explain
Now you need to explain what you mean in your
statement (reason, point)
E...is for Explain
Now you need to explain what you mean in your

You can include facts or proof

statement (reason, point)
You can include facts or proof
e.g. The dictionary defined the word play as ‘engaging
in activity for enjoyment and recreation rather than a
serious or practical purpose’...shouldn’t our childhood
be filled with this type of activity rather than learning,
learning, chores, chores?
E...is for Example
E...is for Example
Give an example of what you mean
Your examples might come from:
      Everyday life
      Movies
      Stories
      Your own experiences
e.g. I asked 30 children when they are most happy
and over 70% of them said they preferred playing
  than doing homework!
Now to put that all together
Now to put that all together
Five days is too long to be at school because children
need time to play. The dictionary defined the word play

our childhood be filled with this type of activity rather
than learning, learning, chores, chores? I asked 30
children when they are most happy and over 70% of
them said they preferred playing than doing homework!
I now have one of my burger fillings done! Phew that
 wasn’t too hard
Watch these two great examples of persuasive
