1. BERLIN (1688)
The river Spree flowed through the city and also
around the fortified city. In 1856 Berlin was
comprised of Berlin and Colin.
The Thirty Years' War had devastating
consequences for Berlin. A third of the houses were
damaged, and the city lost half of its population and
the city was built again and Friedrichstadt was built.
The Districts- Berlin and Colin were the two major
districts..
The Edges- The river Spree was the edge of the
city as well as the wall built around it.
The Pathways- They were organic in both the
districts.
The Nodes- The entrance to the bridges formed the
major nodes.
The Landmarks- The churches formed the
landmarks.
