3. Women’s Hall of Fame What is it? An “organization dedicated to honoring and celebrating the achievements of distinguished American Women” 236 Women have been inducted to date, some of which are household names, and others who most of use have never heard of
4. Who to Chose ? I specifically wanted to chose a woman from the National Women’s Hall of Fame who I was unfamiliar with in an effort to gain awareness of the strong feminine characters that helped shape and continue to shape our country
6. Shelia E. Widnall (1938- ) Who Is She? She graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the 1960’s, one of only 23 women in a class of over 900! She later went on to become a notable professor of aeronautics and astronautics there, with a teaching career spanning over three decades She was the Secretary of The United States Air Force 1992-1997, becoming the first woman to head a U.S. military department
7. Shelia E. Widnall (1938- ) Who Is She? She is a noted astrophysicist, an author, a researcher, and a master pilot. She paved the way for women in the military, in science, and in academics
