Research experiment „Water pollution“

2. So, we are from Skriaudžiai where we
have Skriaudžiai ponds created by
damming the Koke stream, and every
year we travel there to do research
activities.

3. 2021 m.
This year we went to the
ponds to visually assess
the pollution of the coast
and we found the banks
clean.

4. We took water samples from 4 places in the ponds.

7. • We were able to take water samples from
the ponds and study them using EasyTest
6in1 strips .
• EasyTest 6in1 measure GH (hardness), KH
(alkalinity), pH (acidity), NO₂ (nitrites),
NO3 (nitrates) and Cl₂ (chlorine)
simultaneously in the pond and water.

9. • Groundwater research
• Lithuania has large reserves of fresh
groundwater.
• In cities, apartment buildings, water is supplied
centrally, its quality is constantly monitored.
• Unfortunately, water pollution is often invisible
to the naked eye and not felt in any way, but it
is nonetheless present. Its true quality can only
be revealed by laboratory tests.
• And we explored the water in several wells.

to take the samples from wells.

14. What water do we drink at
home?
We also tried to research the
quality of drinking water from
our homes using Easytest 6in1
strips. We analyzed the results
obtained.

16. A summary of our research activities:
• The banks of the ponds are visually clean.
• The water of the ponds is suitable for fish.
• The water quality we the studied in wells is good.
• And the water we drink at the homes is quite good.
